why no /rank emote in WvWvW?.. is it to frustrating to show wanna be pvp ppl ur emote?

lol ya. I decided to give up SPVP until February and started doing WvW. I was getting into a guild and to display that I’ve been playing mostly PvP since launch I decided to /rank and was thinking in my head “watch this” then I typed it and…..nothing. So, I stood there in my level 2 starter gear and said “I swear, I know how to play”.

agreed, if theres any area you want to demonstrate your pvp prowess, its wvw

Thats a shame, dont the flags look completely different though anyway? although its been a long time since i used one of the stomp consumables so i might be mistaken.

If you could rank without the consumable then the consumables would be pointless. As much as I’d like to rank people sometimes when I kill them in WvW, I prefer the way it is now.

Also, I wish people would stop referring to “finish” as “stomp”, especially since stomp is actually a skill, but now we have a dev saying it too, it looks like we’re doomed to confusing slang…

From a decision making stand point, i dont know why you made the rank stomps a consumable token.

I know there’s lots of things on your plate, but in order to improve on the system I’d recommend something where it automatically tiger stomps when you’re tiger rank and there would be a toggle where you can turn it on and off in the options.

Then the only the holiday/event consumables would be available.

With this change everyone would know what rank bracket the person who’s stomping them is. We dont need rank 50+ running around with rabbit finishers imo. Also, we wouldn’t have to keep using these consumables if we were bothered enough to show our rank in hotjoins/wvw.

I’m not a fan of “finish” either, my friends and I prefer the term “spike”. Dunno why, just sounds better to us to say “Spike that guy” and “Pleb spiked” than it does to say finish or stomp.

I like running around with gladiator title and rabbit finishers >_< it reassures people so much…expec when i sometimes go hot join xD

You are not allowed to use /rank anywhere the stomp consumables can be used. This is to prevent confusion between the emote and actually killing someone.

Couldn’t this be avoided by having the /rank ghost animal appear in gold as it does now and the finisher animal appear in a red colour instead? That way it would be clear which is a /rank and which is a finisher, as one would be gold ghost and the other would be a red ghost.

I also agree with the others that the finisher should be permanent and toggle-able. If not then at least sell an endless finisher token for say 50k-100k glory at the appropriate animal’s vendor.

This is a good idé.

When you put this much time ranking up in PvP you want to show off. It just should be a permanent option. And you should not be able to use “finishers” that are lower ranked then you actual are to confuse ppl.

A option to buy a permanent “finisher” that adjust with your rank all the time for lets say 200 000 glory or something is an option.

But best option would be to just have it as a option to put this “on” and “off” thru panel.

Stupid that we need to pay for something like this. It should just be there to encourage ppl to keep ranking up.

Why would you encourage people to rank up – so, you get to see even more zergs in hot join? I have never used a Glory Booster in my life, as rank means absolutely nothing.

Also, the rank system in this game is honestly the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in any game. You do not even want to count all the people that stand on a point you’re capping alone – because the 10 glory is more important than winning the game. That does not make one good, but bad.

They should just remove the rank system all together, so it becomes a team game like it is supposed to be. Not a personal “rather glory than win” game.

Glory boosters only affect your spendable glory, not your leveling glory.

So when are you guys going to make real emotes and not this band aid fix on emotes or is this really what you guys came up with, banners?

And on top of that because of poor design or lack of time we get some half thought of emote just taken from the finishers, why don’t you remove the banner for the /rank emote !

omg so simple now we could use it anywhere w/o your nazi reign on people thinking that your /rank is a finisher….i mean why is that a problem anyway?

/rank is an emote. Using it will show off your current sPvP rank. If you have never been to the mists and play sPvP it will be a deer I think.
