rapid team switching, why even play?
stop playing spvp and start playing tourney ..best with friends. you will be steamrolled by premades. but i think it is better than being zerged 24/7 in spvp.

yup, anet thinks this is a fps for some reason. casual people want set single map matches that penalize quitters and reward winning. instead we got hotjoin zergfest where everyone runs glass cannon circle zeros cap points and quits when the water map comes up.

go play tournaments… hot join is what it is supposed to be
“Tournaments” seem intimidating, but they really are the best choice for anyone just starting out in PvP. Unfortunately, there’s no matchmaking (there’s not really any matchmaking in hotjoin, either) so you’ll only get a close match every so often. Still, it beats hotjoin by miles.
Long story short, the OP is right—it is very difficult for new players to get into PvP.

I don’t want to put in work in a game to find 4 other people to enjoy PvP. 5v5 arena was the least played in wow for a reason. and solo queue just ends up 5v4 or pug vs premade.

The game in a nutshell.
I do hot-join spvp often, for a couple of hours at a time, and I probably only get swapped to the losing team during a match maybe once a night. Yeah it sucks that it happens at all, but it’s really not that frequent. Maybe the OP had a streak of bad luck with a server and players hopping on and off, and he kept being the one randomly chosen to balance with.
if you get autobalanced it gives you the win reward regardless. So it isn’t all bad.

Being on the losing team and getting the “WIN” is like getting a medal for 6th place just because everyone should get a medal.
