The leaderboards are still broken. The decay doesn´t work cause you just lose the rating temporarily and after you come back your mmr becomes your rating so you actually gain rating for not playing. Not just that you can be rank1 without active playing by the broken decay system, you can also be rank1 by not playing at all with a little sync and luck. No offense to the current rank1 player, he´s a good guardian, this topic is just about leaderboard mechanics and if they will ever implement rewards, which should happen soon, they must reset and rework it.

Blackjack is right. Leaderboards are a joke. Decay should happen quicker and should be permenent (after 5 days you start to decay).

I think they should reset the ladders AFTER they fix them.

BUT in typical ANET style they won’t even SAY AT ALL that they realise the leaderboards are broken. So maybe they dont see a problem?

The thing is, we are prepared to wait for things. But it is the not knowing if this is something that they are aware of and WANT to fix which is the issue.

This is why people keep quitting. Nobody has any idea what their plan is. The massive problems in things like the leaderboards aren’t even acnolodged by anet, so nobody can see any light at the end of the tunnel.

All they have to do to leaderboards is take the Qualifying games number from 12 to 50.

It’s a good start… It’ll eliminate 90% of the leader boards though.

I agree. Three of the top four on the leaderboard have played 20 games or less. Number 2 and 4 haven’t played since mid-September.

Also I find it highly unlikely that the stats like 14-1 or 19-1 etc are due to only luck or skill (although I am sure those players are excellent- its just that one good player in a team of baddies cannot guarantee a win) .

It should also only count your past 50-100 games. Mistakes need not last forever.

Yeah, play a guardian until you lose for top 10 guaranteed is a terrible way to gauge anything ratings-wise.

Loosing rank position for winning isn’t broken, you actually didn’t loose MMR, its just someone got more MMR than you now, despite you winning, possible through this broken ladder decay and/or playing more games/higher quality games in the same time frame and winning as well.
Nonetheless Ladder Decay is broken and implementation was just wrong, I guess it’s a manpower issue again here.
Edit: Didn’t look at this example, dunno how that happened with Click rising over Zym, without having played any games.

So anet – is this something you are aware of? Are you going to fix leaderboards to make them something people want to play for? Please let us know. Because if not I honestly don’t see the point in continuing with this game much longer.

I play SoloQ often and I am so sick of feeling like I am being punished for playing. I really feel like they should be harsh on the decay so if you want to stay at the top, you have to actually play the game a decent amount otherwise SoloQ will end up dying off completely.

Yup, people who are the “best” according to leaderboards should have to play to stay there by proving they are still the best. Not afk for 2 months and come back to rank 1.

So ya i felt this prolly more than anyone i spent weeks playing non stop in solo q getting up to around 350 games played, going on a nearly 50-0 win streak to finally pass up the rank 1 spot (who was 14-0 at the time lol) only to find that a few days later his decay kicked in forcing him (wakkey) to play 1 more game WHICH HE LOST!!! and What do ya know Apparently when you lose a game after decay kicks in it Anet finds it neccessary to GIVE HIM BACK RANK 1….

So i log in a few days after getting rank 1 and what do i see 14-1 RANK 1 Wakkey kicking me off first place

So what do i do? Q up again to take whats mine back and get put into 4-5 and lose….

(BTW EASIEST FIX EVER FOR 4v5s ADD AN ARE YOU READY BUTTON WHEN THE Q POPS IF THEY DONT CLICK YES THEN FIND SOMEONE WHO IS READY…. ITS OBV THAT PPL WONT STICK AROUND IN THESE 20 MIN Q’s) anet needs to get a kittening clue

Anyways I dont think ill be getting lucky with another 50-0 win streak any time soon again to take rank 1 back. from the 14-1 player cause we all know he deserves it

THX ANet maybe i should be smarter and wait a month for decay before playing solo q agian that way i can lose a game and shoot up in rank… Btw this happens all the time with team q too

Yeah leaderboards is a bunch of fooo. Qualifying games should be increased, but 50 is a bit much. 20 or 25 would be good.

I pretty much gave up on tpvp. Hopefully the 15th has some leaderboard fixes too. Balance changes + fixed leaderboards would definitely get me back into it.

in my mind the leaderbords is one of the reasons ppls dont play much as before, because all ppls care rly much about this bad ranking (i do it myself also to much)

i prefer the time before the ladder when i think about tpvp in gw2.
the good old 3 map free tournamet and paid tournament with gem price (best times)
and the qualipoint times (was ok)

in this time there was much teams joining tournys.
but also much friendlist teams or even much heart of the mists random teams have do alot of tournamet, because there was no problem to lose some matches.

at the 3 map tournamet times was good, if you whant just play do the free tournys, there was the skill not so high, if you whant hard matches then join the paid tournamet with your team vs other good teams and maybe win GEMS, not silly ranking…

in my mind this times was much better then the actual teamladder, because ppls only play with there team mates now.
this need 5 players online and if one of this 5 players is not only a full team just dont play because they dont want lose rank… (this leads to our second account situation, but most ppls even dont play much with the second acount random)

well and at least there is the soloq ladder.
this one is the most big no need ever, because i have to play with 4 random ppls.
if i have 4 good random ppls for sure i win ranking, but when i have bad luck i get 4 bad random ppls and lose rank.

anet should bring back 3 maps paid tournament option with gem price.
and this one should be the only one with also a ladder maybe.
but better remove this joke again
