remove solo q leaderboard!
You can have the same problem in Team Arena since you can join without a full team….
There is no skill in a gamble if your teammates/teamcomp sucks or if you are 4/5 or not.
My rating gets determined by others people that get picked randomly, not the best idea.

in teamQ all teams have super inflated rankings from farming randoms so Team-leaderboard is just a placebo to feel good while exploiting the broken system – and yes this system where solo/duo/triple players can join a teamQ is total broken
before they not make teamQ 5 people join only the leaderbaord is nonsense and soloQ leaderboard the only FAIR leaderbaord we have
edit: oh and yes, there should be ABSOLUT NO REWARDS when a full 5 man premade fight a random team
1) No rewards for a premade fighting a random team? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. They don’t choose their matches. Often times there are no team queuing that are good enough to challenge the top teams. Are you saying that they either shouldn’t be rewarded for playing or shouldn’t play at all? What kind of a backwards system is that, where the best players get the least rewards?
2) Solo queue is a lot different than team queue. Success in solo queue comes down to adapting to your teammates mistakes rather than coordinating with them to defeat the enemy team. There are methods of exploiting solo queue mentalities to increase your win percentage. No, it doesn’t come down to 100% skill, but there’s no way to do that in a team game.

What are your top methods for fixing a weak team’s problems?
I do think mobility is a must since weak teams fail to take undefended points. Mostly I mean home and mid; far is always more a a gamble as to whether it helps or hurts to take it.

team que shows even less skill especially if you run 5 bunkers, winning with bad people on your team requires more skill than carried by comp, but id imagine you cant carry.
@Silentshoes Here is an example. I got 1st on the solo queue leaderboard by running a banner bunker warrior. Basically what I did was planted myself on their home point and fought three of them there indefinitely. If they were smart, they would have rotated around me. Hell, I’d queue against friends of mine, and they would tell their teammates specifically to avoid me. It didn’t work. Basically, whatever build you want to play, you have to find a way to take advantage of common solo queue mistakes (rotations are the biggest, see Cruuk’s build).

everybody has to deal with those problems to the same degree though.
And to be honest … we all know that leaderboards say nothing about skill. You can differenciate between players that are in top 1000 and the rest maybe, but that’s it.
Win- or loss-streaks of only ~5 games can easily bring you 400 ranks up or down in the ladder. Just 1 day not playing and you’ll drop 100 ranks down. You can’t really compare players based on the leaderboard-ranking as it is right now.

I think the leaderboards DO say something about the specific skill of augmenting a weak team that does not communicate. Usually that means a certain build and playstyle.

Small PvP population and “lucky team assignments”. Like flipping heads 10 times in a row, but never 100 times in a row, so to speak.

solo q is a total disaster, i’m starting to hate it more and more instead of enjoying it.
i would be fine if people playing in it currently knew how to play ( according Op point saying " i hate my rating being determined by randoms), point is they’re mostly clueless, but really like i’ve never seen before.
Add this to skyhammer and you have something that is way more frustrating than enjoyable.
Solo q leaderboards makes no sense since 90% of high rating guys are afkers playing once in a week.
I would remove the system completely till they fix it for real.
People don’t get 60%+ win loss ratios by accident after a hundred plus games. It isn’t accident top players have the top spots (for the most part).
Depends a bit on your playtimes aswell. If i que only during peak hours on weekdays ill manage to stay in the top 100-200 with ease + games are less frustrating.
Playing during the weekend or off hours means you have to deal with the newer and lower rated players. And im struggling with adapting to their way of playing to be honest. To name a random example.
Managing a 1v2 or 3 for a while really has an impact on your team if your team is semi ok. During these off hours it often leads to nothing since your teammates are chasing 1 single thief with 3 on another part of the map….or cap points with 3-4.
I dont really care about my own leaderboardrank. So ill play whenever i feel like it on whatever class i want to play on at that moment. But i see enough ppl who will only:
- play during peak hours
- sync queue with as many other decent players as possible (so luck becomes less of a factor).
- Only play their main class with the optimal build.
To add to this:
A forrest game just now on the US boards. During the opener 1 engi pushing our home resulting in 3 teammates feeling the need to defend it. A ranger on our team was busy with boss at the same time. Meanwhile im alone vs 3 in the middle…..
How should i adapt to this? Mind that this is with me in the top 50….so getting higher rated isnt really the issue.
FIX this broken imaginative mmr system already, how these players like that can be in top 10 they shoudlnt even be able to q unless they break some matches…

Not even visible raiting , broken leadboard , mmr getting ppl with no clue about the game cuz u cant make smthg that noobs would have to break some matches first like in Dota example and than let them play rank. Also why still skyhammer u think its balanced map yeah prolly it is getting pull from r1 player wiht 0 exp who doesnt even have binds from steahlth so pro… Still in alpha not gonna play soloq again unless its fixed
