No, it has been annoying me since HoT beta. I knew they added it to increase HoT sales but really at this point it is just stupid. Even DS was changed because it was crappy design and a binary hardcounter.

Counter? Only counter to it is dodges and i have only so many, especially vs scrapper and revs. Adapt? Sure, i just gonna faceroll reaper and rev like everyone and their mother. Or how about steal locks out other classes from half of their spells/traits for 6 sec. Sounds great to me!

Thieves have CC, and I hope you are more mobile than a hammer Eng. Thief is definitely not the super class of this meta, but there needs to be a counter for stealth in the game.

Engi is not applying Reveal. It doesn’t prevent you re-entering stealth. It just removes stealth, which is only valuable when the Thief kittened up and is trying to save his hide by stealthing right in front of everyone. L2P

I play a lot of strong hold matchs rank/unranked and i use to get teamed vs premades. the scrapper and rev reveals were only a real issue for me if i played old vanilla d/p thats (DA/SA/TRIK) if i rolled daredevil instead or even played s/d then i was under no real pressure from reveal, just the rest of their kitten nal lol.

every class needs a weakness, hell, the thief class alone counters a mesmer regardless of what the mesmer plays (condi tank might take some time) and the fact that d/p is so good, it’s weakness is that it rely a lot on stealth too.

The way i see it is that yes, stealth needs some counterplay, but currently reveal is too devastating, one skill can disable your whole trait line and possibly your utility skills which are majority of the defensive tools thief has if that thief is running shadow arts. Assuming you don’t use dd and sa both at the same time.

When someone is petrified, stunned, knocked down it disables most of their skill bar not just one type of mechanic. Thief still has more dodges than anyone which is a global shutdown on any incoming skill. All reveal does is temporarily disable stealthing.

The problem with this is that reveal from engi and rev pretty much forces thieves into DD build and cripple the little remaining team support thieves have. 6 sec duration hardcounter on 20 sec CD on classes that already hardcounter thieves is just overkill imo.

No class has entire trait line dedicated to stealth besides thief though. Also i didn’t say thief mechanic anywhere. I just think 20 sec CD on 6 sec revealed is too short and too strong.

I play all the classes affected by this ( Thief as D/P, scrapper and rev ) and I hoenstly think its fine.
The reveals are all pretty slow, and it can be very hard to get a thief with it if the thief is smart about it.

The only thing I don’t like is that the Rev ones inflict reveals on target even before they stealth, for the sword 3 under reveal combo.

Just to point out how absurd it is. If i get Ccd i can use stun breaker. If i have condis, i can use condi cleanse. If i have 6 reveal on me…. well, i can try to kite engi, no way to kite rev though.

Nocta, my problem with it is that it is too low CD for something so powerful on top of already too many overloaded tools on borderline broken classes and it forces thief players into DD (which is also not a solution).

This is a misnomer. If a player decides to stand in a red circle, he will take damage whether he is visible or invisible. Thus, taking damage when invisible is NOT a “downside” or disadvantage.

Does stealth prevent you from dodging?
Does stealth prevent you from blocking?
Does stealth prevent evades?
Does stealth immobilize or otherwise restrict motion, shadowsteps, blink, teleports?

An invisible player has exact same options to avoid damage as a visible player. There is NO downside.

The invisible player has the advantage(over a visible player) by “breaking target”. Making it even more difficult to be struck. (Not to mention being “invisible”)

The ONLY “downside”, as you mentioned, is the inability to “cap a point” and this only applies to conquest. With Stronghold being added to ranked, this disadvantage is diminished even more.

My point is stealth is not block or invul in that sense, it doesn’t prevent dmg, it just helps to avoid dmg in some cases.

Revs mostly and while rezzing someone. Problem with rev is anything they hit you with takes like 30-50% of your HP if not more, some things are homing or aoe and ignore stealth anyway. You can dodge only so much vs them. While you can kite scrapper you can’t kite rev (decent one at least). I am obviously not talking about 1v1.

It is not so bad if it is just 1 scrapper or rev on team but due to how strong this classes are atm they are quite popular so i see a lot of revs and scrappers on same team together and it actually becomes quite a nightmare.
