sPVP needs a match making system
also, not letting friends queue together is just a cheap and lazy way of dealing with ‘pub stomping.’ It’s rather disappointing because I expected more from Arenanet. Not only is it very easy to bypass (hence almost completely ineffective against those who really do intend to ‘pubstomp.’) it ruins the pvp experience for many people. Really, what fun is there in smashing things without your friends there with you?
I would like to have a way of queing with my friends even if its only 3 people casual players really don’t want to join a Tpvp and get stomped because its nothing like 8v8 and usually the 3rd round is a guild with all Tpvp focused builds and players. Also whoever says tournaments are an answer they are so much more time consuming because of the queue then the 4 minute wait for start, and then waiting for next round all over again.
Im not really worried about going against a team of pre-made say 4 out of the 8, the only reason this was such big problem in WoW is because people with 2200 had far better gear which made an even bigger gap between the casual and hardcore.

I believe Paid tournaments are going to have matchmaking, and have rankings, all that good stuff.

I really hope this never happens. Or, if it does happen, you’re going to need to include a queue so that a team of 4 will only get into a game vs. another team of 4 premade, then fill out the rest with individuals. The issue is, why would I, as a single player, EVER choose to queue up for premade hell? In tournaments? Sure, but we already have those. Plus, if you are getting queued against another team of the same amount of premades, there is a good chance that the enemy team is going to be tPVP specced and are going to rock you just as hard as in tPVP.
I understand you want to play with your friends, I really do. I play sPVP with my friends all the time, up to 5 of us all on the same server. Most of the time we aren’t on the same team, but who cares? We obviously aren’t practicing for tPVP or we’d be doing tPVP. Still, I do understand wanting to all be on the same team, but your want to be on the same team as your friends should not overpower the want of everyone else not to get pub stomped all day. It also has nothing to do with gear or no gear. Try getting an entire premade of classes BUILT to hold points and just go hold two points every round. You will win almost every time, unless the enemy team is a premade. People just can’t be trusted enough to implement something like this.
