Please consider some type of grouping system that allows solo-queuers to only face solo-queuers.

One thing I dislike about other PVP focused games is that they have never worked for the solo queue people… and guaranteed them they will only face other like-minded play styles. Too often you have “pro” caliber players grouping up with each other, or in some games even on lowbie accounts to bypass given stat systems, in order to faceroll casuals/new players… almost always are they on voice chat systems and have played together for years.

I know it would be difficult and I know it would possibly cause some wait times. But there must be a way to design it so that the player can select if they want to prioritize being put with a premade group as a solo-queued player… or only vs other solo-queued players… and have the system match based on that.

Anyway. I was just reading on the blog about the tournaments and it would be nice for a company to finally come clean with it and throw a bone to solo-queuers.

And no, paid tournaments are not a solution.

He said spvp, this kind of pvp randomizes teams each game. If they all que together then they will get split up. If they are split how does it hurt you in any way? Is it because they are just better than you?

How do you have a premade in spvp? With Vent/TS/Mumble? Wouldnt that defeat the purpose if you are forced to be on different teams?

Why can you not join another server? It is called hotjoin for a reason, this isnt WoW were you are stuck against some premade team, they will be split and you can leave for no penalty. I highly doubt that there are tons of premades magically sticking together clogging up the majority of servers.

You sure he didnt mean free tpvp? If so then he should deal with it. There is spvp specifically for that, with all the safeguards mentioned above……….It just occured to me that your post and his are so ludicrous you might be joking. I have not slept in a long times so maybe my sarcasm meter is off, so I hope that is what it is. A cruel sick joke.

Exactly. Even if you do go into the same server with a bunch of your friends, you’re not guaranteed to end up on the same team.

He’s talking about tournament spvp… and he’s right of course.

Anet is just deperately trying to make money off sPvP and keeps coming up with idiotic ideas like:
1) Payed tournaments instead of proper matchmaking
2) Glory Boosters instead of a ladder
3) Mystic cash forge rewards instead of something actually meaningfull

At least give us a proper split between random and premade tournaments…

sPvP is not tPvP.

Could matchmaking for tourneys be improved? Yeah. Is it likely to happen? No, probably not.

Well, clearly it is not intended for a premade to be able to sPvP together, but frequently I see 3-4 people from the same guild on the same team. They may not be guaranteed to get on the same team, but they go out of their way to make sure it happens as much as possible using team switching.

Who is trolling who here… he asks for solo queue and we have spvp where it’s purposely difficult for people to get on the same side. People be crazy.

sPvP is not tPvP.

You guys know the ‘s’ stands for ‘structured’ right? Both tourneys and hotjoin are sPvP.
