sPvP Improvements!
And then on to me.
Now let me start of by saying I love! Gw2. I played WoW for years, and a slew of other mmos, rift, tera, star wars. and pretty much every f2p mmo out there.
And noone does it better than Gw2. Easily.
That being said i hate to say i haven’t been able to keep my interest in the game beyond checking out each new patch and playing all the achievements for it.
I’d call myself a pretty varied gamer. Level 20 on fractals, All dungeons besides path 3&5 of Arah done, tons of WvW, close to getting my legendary and Rank 26 on PvP
But! the real draw for me is sPvP. But i just can’t keep my interest in it which is what pulls me to the game .Which is why i bring you this tread.
First the system: Perfect its great Anet keep it up, It feel like an action game, it brings you in well, and once you get the hang of it its pick it up and go have fun.
Map: Perfect you guys are bringing out a slew of new maps at a breathtaking pace. (Kinda scary actually) they are fun, creative and inventive. And we know you guys are working on moving away from capture the flag style. Awesome
Balance: Near Perfect Unless everyone had the same skills, and traits there is no way to make everyone balanced in all situations. And you guys come kitten close keep it up.
Now on to the bad.
PvP feels unrewarding. PvP skins are great. I mean they are all the pve skins the system to craft them is nice and deep and its even better than pve because its got a collect them all feel to it.
While ranks are great they really shouldn’t be the only thing we have. I know its always been a want to keep pvp and pve separate but the whole point of and Mmo is the social aspect.
I mean i go to world v world grab some awesome weapon skins with left over badges of honor and show off armor and rewards i got from there. Not to mention the few and far and awesome! times inbetween when rare items drop off of people i destroy. Its such a great incentive to go.
Just like the Bazaar of the Four winds which has the sprint races. That if you enjoy it and play 15 times in a row you get a loot bag with a rare and a few other goodies, i can’t see why that wouldn’t be a great Idea for sPvP
Of course i’m sure you’ve heard it before: Being able to level though sPvP. I have all the alts (plus a few extra) and i just can’t see me redoing the zones (since i’ve done them ALL on my main) and wvwvw isn’t as rewarding not at max level. But sPvP (where everyone is equals based on skill) would be the perfect place to drop hours and hours into your alt. And you get an account wide bonus of rank points but nothing for the actual character. So of course i would like very small amounts of XP, Karma, even gold for participation in sPvP matches.
Lastly heart of the mist itself. While it does offer great dummy, insightful Npcs and easy to find vendors. There really isn’t anything there. A ‘just for fun’ king of the arena where one person trys to stay inside for as long as possible, or a ‘test your strength’ damage per second dummy ect ect could give it life. using all the space the place has.
I hope this gets to the right ears. And if i missed out on a thread or you guys want to see personal improvements. Voice em!! because that is the only way they are heard and cared about.

Skins are awesome, but we need some ways to make gold, like skin or mini drops from win chest that only drops from those chests, and can be sold on TP to the PvE guys
Also, after a while skins just aren’t enough motivation. I have all the skins I wanted, why would i get intrested for other PvP rewards that are purely skins?

Yep… at the moment PvP players have to play PvE to get new skins. It should be the other way around too.
No, everyone should play what they like/chose to and get the skins/stuff for that. you can give pvp stuff to pveers but not stuff that you cant get through pvp too. and yes, that could work the other way around too.
it’s nonsense to give out skins from the livingstory to players, without playing the living story. As living story is only PvE, these skins will only be obtainable through PvE.

Really?..have you not seen necro? Spams conditions, can lower CD on said conditions, can rid any and all conditions, can use runes of undead to make said conditions maximised and increase toughness to heavy armour defense spec, has mobility passive buffs, second HP and can crowd control any target(s). That seems fairly well suited to all conditions to me…in fact it seems well over powered in situations that have to be fought inside a small area, like,..a node or choke point.
Heavy melee is majorly disadvantaged in PvP.

Anet fix things only if it might increase gemstore sales.
