Q:
sPvP scoring that would eliminate ZERGING?
I don’t do tourneys don’t have the time. I let everyone zerg and go around and cap points and come out with the highest score.
jportell, sorry. I tried that. You don;t get the highest score in the 260 range with 10-point caps
Don’t some points count for more? Like the mid point. (Clocktower, Keep, Temple etc etc
Large glory bonus for a winning team would mean that players must concentrate on taking and holding objective, not caping then leave point unprotected to cap some other point or zerg for the kills.
Winning should be incentivized in a way that you get maximum amount of glory only if you win, not if you farm points and kills. Purpose of spvp should be to teach you and prepare you for tournaments where you can only progress if you win the match.
Make the win bonus 200 or more is my suggestion.
Win bonus is the way dude.
Less glory for capping and uncapping. More for accomplishing map goals (chief/Svanir, 3-cap buff, etc.). Bigger bonus for winning.
And the big one:
Do not award glory until the match has ended. Leavers need to be punished.
MAYBE only award kill points to the person who landed the most damage on the player who was killed.
It’s probably a lot harder to prevent zerging than we think, since it is easiest to gather points simply by hanging at the edges of a big powerful group, just soaking up the skirmish kill points.
If you award a huge bonus for the win, then when you are on an unbalanced team, losing side, you get nothing even though it was not your fault that the team you were assigned to sucked.

An unbalanced team sucks, but that really does prepare you more for tPvP, and brings the game more in line with needing teamwork. As is, the only kind of “teamwork” that is rewarded is moving in a big group and laying down a lot of AoE to get as much credit for kills as you can; farming up 300 glory per game.
hate to cliche, but WoW had it decent, kills gave low points, you got a huge win bonus if you win or a small lose bonus if you lose, if they gave the winning team 500 points and the losing team 200 points and lowered the kill points you’d see more people focusing on objectives.
ofcourse that method also means afkers get points at the end even if their team loses, so we’d need a report function.

The last line. Totally. Just like in league of legends. I’m afriad of the AFK fest it will turn out to be though…
On the other hand, “feeding” and “fed” states don’t apply to this game so only really pity players should go AFK.
What about team changes? That can be tricky…
Ideally, you should get points only when you do something directly useful to winning the match. No points for fighting in the road; only for fighting at a point. And if it is something a group did, the amount of points you get should be proportional to your percentage contribution of the total effort.

Afking is another abuse of the system. This is why you should be able to report griefers in PvP. It’s absolutely absurd that there is no report option for someone who has left the game early or who is idling in base taking up a player slot. Both situations ruin the game for the 9-15 other people in it.
I get that PvP is sectioned off from PvE—including player support and arbitration, I’m assuming. So if someone is causing trouble in PvP, then I’d be fine with their punishment being restricted to PvP. A leaver or afker can be suspended from participating in PvP and still be allowed to enjoy the rest of the game. This scum just needs to be eliminated from PvP so those who would like to enjoy PvP can actually do so.
Zerging is not rewarding even now. I can spent couple of minutes chasing a thief and obtain 5 glory being successful or I can siege enemy point (10 glory in 5 seconds) and then cap it for another 10 glory. It is obvious that zerging is not as rewarding as tactical playing.

in LoL its the actual gamers who deal with the afkers and griefers in each game, not some dev team
