show enemy traits and gear before match
No. Terrible idea. This has no point as your build is from the same possible selections as your opponent all the way from skills down to equipment. How on earth do you think this is a necessity?

Well in Fifa they allow 11vs11, so gw2 should do it as well. My local shop sells nice bacon cobs, ANET should offer some sort of bacon based bread affair.

simple. uncertainty promotes safe gameplay. safe gameplay is boring. I’m not sure what your third sentence is trying to convey.

sc2 is a recognized esport game, you might wanna learn a thing or two from blizzard.

Proof that uncertaintiy promotes safe play? Thats a pretty wild claim with absolutely no proof to back that up.
Third sentence stands on its own. Every player has the option to select from the exact same pool of classes, skills and equipment. It is up to the player then learn the popular builds to be ready to face any possible matchup. They dont need to be spoon fed what the opponent is playing like a child.

you ever played league of legends? let’s say they removed the ability to view enemy summoner spells. people would play more defensively, because you wouldn’t know what the enemy is capable of. committing when you are highly uncertain of the outcome because you don’t have enough information is like rolling dice. therefore, until you find out their skills, you minimize this effect by playing safe, aka not committing.
why do you have to call this spoonfeeding? it’s a simple feature that’d be useful to have.

THIS ISNT LEAGUE. THIS ISNT SC2.
This is GW2. Have you watched any competetive match? No one plays purely defensively. Why? Because they would lose the game. Map control is extremely important and if you decided to sit there on 2 points and hope to win, then your team will lose because the other team will push your far point and will contest center point the entire game.

you can’t understand an analogy can you? since gw2 forces combat as you’ve said, the dice roll effect is the one that’s mostly prevalent. why do you feel the need to oppose this so strongly?

Because PvPers dont need to be spood fed. They are perfectly capable of playing a game without knowing exactly what, and thus how your opponent is going to play. That adds nothing to the game.

hmm i can see where you’re coming from. say i am playing a certani build, then you’d build for a counter, so i see your build countering mine, then can i go and change mine again? who dictates who sees what when? if there are no changes to be made afterwards, then i don’t see the difference either.
i will agree most people will build more defensively to start with, that’s what i did. but now i am playing extremely one-sided and i just do my best when i can. part of the fun for me is figuring out what the other players builds are in the moment. and then learnign through the process, being able to counter it.
sure, there will be times when i die to a certain player. then i actually look forward to playing them again, trying different things, not making the same mistakes.

just no, be happy you know what classes you are against, in WoW you didnt even know who you play against until arena started and doors opened… its part of the game to realize who you are facing and how to adapt your strategy to beat them
it would be like if you must specify what items and build you use in LoL/HoN/DOTA before the game starts… it would be sooo bad and boring… adaptation to the situation is just a part of game
