whats wrong with it? when a guy with 0 games played defeat world champion in box, he become a new champion, is that wrong? here if you defeat much better players than you are, you gain more rating and become better rated fast, works good imo

but in reality the system is that boxer beat 13 people then took 5 years off, and the people ranked above him all lost during those 5 years so he became #1

It’s definitely elo based at least. Win probability determined by comparative ratings influences the rating change after each game. That’s all they’ve told us, and that’s elo.

Not Diamond. Not Challenger.
I went 7-3 and had to work my way up over 100 games to get to Diamond 1 from Silver…

its just a theory… anyway its 13 tournament matches, he could play many other games before and be just overall good in it he could do PvE, WvW and hot joins aswell… and dont forget it can be new account just for trolling people that he can be ranked with only 13 wins and 100% win rate

You have no clue who they beat to get ranked that high. They didn’t necessarily have to beat anybody really good. Just beating some people with decent rating will get you ranked highly if you start from scratch and win at a very high percentage over a short period of time. Regardless this system needs work. It needs at the very least some kind of ratings decay or minimum games to be ranked. The way to get this game improved, believe it or not, is not to get the devs every benefit of the doubt but to harp and nitpick. You could say that reflects a sad state of the world we live in but it doesn’t make it less true. I never accept anything they say at face value especially since I can honestly say they have been less specific with the playerbase about there game systems than any other MMORPG I’ve played. Trion and Mythic, the games I have the most experience with are DAOC, Warhammer, and Rift, were worlds more forthcoming. Both of those companies would have told there players how exactly the ELO worked possibly down to mathematcial formulas with hypothectical examples.

Actually he always left all the games where he was losing. However, before the recent patch it wouldn’t record as a loss on the leaderboard. He still lost the rating for it though.

After 13 matches win(trolling) , i bought a new account later cuz my friend doesnt allow me to delete his chara(I BOUGHT A CHARA SLOT IN HIS ACCOUNT FOR MY ENGI FOR ONLY TWO DAYS!!! WTF). So that’s why I didnt play this account anymore.

For your information:
I beat a good team (for “good”, i mean their rank is high, like 10-50 or something, cant remember clearly) for once and some normal teams (like rank 100-500) for like 6 or 7 times, rest is pugs (maybe not, im not sure.)

As u can see, I didnt beat anyone between rank 1-10, but i got rank 7 when my rank first shown on the board.

You realize in the real world I can’t just walk up to a world champ in ANY sport and demand a title shot. Number 1 ranking is earned in every sport by fighting your way up the ladder. Otherwise the world champ title would have no meaning.

This is hilarious. Dude trolls for 2 nights on a friends account, wins 1 meaningful game and beats a bunch of mid rank pugs. Gets rank 7 on leaderboard. Quits but is immortalized forever at the top.

All I gotta say is I was around rank 800, and I did solo q, and two rank 1’s are considered in the 800s on the leaderboards as well. I wrote a massive list, but I decided not to submit it, because it included a lot of anet pvp structive developer hate and how they are worthless compared to the profession balance developers, but anyways heres a screenshot of a rank 800 solo q matchmaking.

@uberkingkong I have noticed this as well. I believe this is due to players who have just started tourneys so they have no rating so they are ranked around rank 1000 or something like that. In this case it takes few games for them to get a “set” rating on the leaderboard. Granted, I have no idea what I’m talking about.
