spvp content and the benefit
i dont think we will get another class after the revenant and tbh im fine with that.
with every coming expansion they will introduce 1 new specialisation for every class which is enough. if they release expansions every year or 1.5 year i don’t have any concerns regarding class and build diversity.
what this game needs is a better matchmaking and leaderboards with rewards, ingame tournaments (+ the esl and whatever else we have), more pvp exclusive and more frequent balance changes.
if sPvP was a standalone PvP it would be way more popular than it is now. i think pvp would really benefit if (pvp only) was made f2p for the vanilla classes and skills/traits.
we’re going in the right direction, gw2 pvp could be so much. now it’s up to anet (and a bit to the community).
Competitive gaming… Sure ^^, I hate mobas except maybe Gigantic but there usually needs to be a purpose to PvP, if it’s just LB and you have bad balance you are asking for trouble, MOBA’s are easier to balance and mechanics work differently. GW2 is special primarily due to no needed traditional trinity that’s the hook, they have potential but not the spirit so far. I am one to wish all modes were one but GW2 is for casuals.
HoT is too vague on what it will accomplish for now.
The Dhuumfire thread
I think we need to see how specializations will work, in the anet idea, they should really differentiate professions, so i think their goal will be add more specializations to actual profs instead od adding new profs.
Specializations could add a lot of diversity in the game.
yeah i agree on specializations is another thing that can add diversity to the game. @Jektt It almost felt like if anet focuses more on spvp, we would’ve have what you suggested earlier. Expansion every 1.5 year would definitely prolong the game ( I would hope new classes would come with this )
@sagat yeah its true that gw 2 classes are hard to balance because of the whole traditional not needed trinity system, but i think human creativity shouldn’t be limited and i’m sure anet can balance more future classes ( if they are thinking of adding one ) or maybe even get some community ideas. During the old days of dota 1 (2004) Icefrog the creator of dota 1 relied a lot on the community to design most of his heroes
I myself doesn’t enjoy gw 2 pve (it is still good though) that much, although i love the spvp.
I don’t think more classes are in that much needed at the moment to be honest, I’d rather they fixed up current issues and improved the current classes than create even more issues by introducing several new classes.
