stability and immobilize
No thank you. Stability is already super powerful and should not be as easy to acquire as it is. Maybe if the boon was more difficult to obtain…
-Sorrow’s Furnace-
then how do you fight immobilize? for melee classes its a death ticked because you can’t dodge
since stability is a stack now you can also burn it off with aoe cc in a zerg fight. its not as strong as it used to be.

I’m aware of that, there are still zerg tactics in 5v5 as far as im aware.

Excellent question! You actually have several ways to get rid or negate the effects of a petty immobilization, sorted here by effectiveness (it still depends on the build you’re running, of course).
1) Learn the immob skills animations and dodge them. For example, engineer’s rifle #2 is hugely telegraphed, and so are most of the warrior’s and ranger’s immobilizations. The longest immob usually have the most obvious animations.
2) Some skills specify in their description that they break immob. It oftens go with the general theme of the skill. Examples: thief’s Withdraw, warrior’s wharhorn #4, ranger’s Lightning Reflexes, etc. Find out which one you have in your build, or add some.
3) Immobilization is a condition, and can be removed by any classical condi removal utilities. If you’re having problems with immob, use an insta-cast condi removal, like mesmer’s Mantra of Resolve. Immob can be covered, of course, so this works best when fighting power-based build (LB rangers…).
4) Block/invuln, or better yet, use an evading skill. You can’t dodge while immob, but skills like thief’s SB #3, warrior’s GS #3, or every kitten the ranger has on his sword and dagger still work when you’re immobilized. They often are on a much lower CD than invuln (that are usually stun-breakers as well), so they are an excellent choice.
5) Teleport away. Sure, you’ll still be stuck, but you can get away from that shatter/HB, or hide behind a wall so that the ranger can’t pew pew you to death.
6) Accept your fate. Not recommended if you’re serious about winning.
Hope that helped! Of course, all of the above only applies if you WEREN’T STUCK MID-AIR! When is that bug going to be fixed?!
edit: added bold font passages to stress the main elements.

That’s not a good tactic. Watch this video to learn about conquest tactics! It’s great, I watched it when I was already experienced and learnt a ton of stuff!

I agree its a terrible tactic but in single que matches there are allot of opportunities to use it effectively. If the enemy dies instantly there’s not much they can do and it’ll definitely get you the win since it doesn’t need any actually team coordination or skill.

Well, if you’re looking for the best tactic to win in hotjoin, I suggest you go into spectator mode when you’re loosing, then join the winning team when the auto-balance hits. Don’t forget to volunteer for auto-balance whenever you can. Hope that helped.
Edit: Either I’m crazy or you edited your post, but I was certain you were talking about hotjoin. Either way, if you say it works in your MMR region, I believe you, but take a look at the video: you might like this type of gameplay better.

I use a burst warrior and the build it is not flexible at all so immobilize counter skills aren’t really an option. More often then not I’m fighting multiple opponents and seeing immobilize coming and reacting to it while being out of someone’s cc is pretty rare.
I don’t know how your suppose to dodge those skills when fighting at close range. Maybe its just not something a typical player can do.

I like to play burst warrior at times too. If you’re using a GS, or even a sword, consider taking the trait “Mobile Strikes” in Discipline. I always take it when I’m roaming, and I never have problems with immob. Warrior actually has a lot of tools against immob! In every warrior build I play, I take “Dogged March” in Defense, that reduces the duration of immob.
As of the melee dodging, it’s absolutely possible. It just takes practice, and it gets better if you try to play different professions. But it’s true you won’t be able to avoid it every time (the other player has tactics of his own to place his immobs). So if you do get stuck:
- GS#3
- Movement skill with “Mobile Strikes”
- Block
- Eat it like a man. On a warrior, you’re meant to take some hits, even if you play berserker, that’s what the huge health pool and the heavy armor are for.
edit: ok, I didn’t get that you’re build was unshakable. Mind sharing it? You might use:
