“Nuke or be Nuked” – Said every mesmer ever
If they could make stealth work like halo stealth where they’re translucent rather than transparent and make them untargetable and take like, 20-30% less damage so they don’t get totally ruined by warriors and guardians, this would be fine.
Even tho that’s a trash game but PWI handled this very well, stealth ends when the player gets damage.
It’s kinda logic a thief keeping up stealth because moving around in the “shadows” but when they get a greatsword in chest cannot stay “hidden” from our eyes…
Ofc when you get popped from stealth and bursted in 2-3 second you can’t counter just with preparations, I always keep signet of stone for cases like that. But when the bursts ends or the attacker realizes that I get 0 dmg just covers back to stealth..

Eyyyy a fellow PW player. Reason why you can’t compare PW to GW is because the assassin could usually just hop into stealth and then holy path out and use their flying mount to avoid the aoe. Of course, thieves here have ways of manually closing/creating distance, but VS practically any spec that isn’t another thief or fresh air elementalist, the thief will constantly get cleaved out of stealth and will essentially go from stupidly OP to totally UP (same would apply to mesmers, in greater capacities). I agree that stealth itself needs a rework, but something like that would shut those two classes out of PvP entirely.
Yeah, I agree. Having large amounts of stealth now makes you automatically superior to other specs. I don’t think this is the direction the game should be heading. Instead of nerfing stealth, they decided to buff it and I don’t quite understand that. And everyone can say how now the game requires more skill, but it’s far from true. Stealth burst doesn’t really require you to be skilled that much, playing a zerker class without stealth on the other hand is pretty difficult.
The players who love to abuse stealth are all cut from the same cloth, in my opinion, they always have an inflated sense of their own skills because of the ease of stealth ganking. The game was pretty balanced for the amount of stealth pre-patch, who at ANet thought it was a good idea to buff stealth AND burst DPS all at once?
All I’m hearing is “I built for full DPS which is only viable thanks to my ridiculous amounts of stealth and think that being able to reset fights/stun more than your average build has stunbreaks is totally fair and not OP”.
It’s kinda logic a thief keeping up stealth because moving around in the “shadows” but when they get a greatsword in chest cannot stay “hidden” from our eyes…
The difference being is that thief and mesmer stealth is magic so it’s really more like an invisibility spell than sneaking around in the shadows.

Which achieves the same purpose, although you could use magic as an excuse as to why you can’t physically cut them out of stealth.

PvP is a team game. Once you survive the initial burst your team needs to peel for you and counter pressure the thief/Mesmer. If the thief is yolo stabbing you to death, you and your team are not doing their job or they are tunnel visioning the other opponents.
I suppose another reason why stealth isn’t getting nerfed any time soon is probably because ANET intended people to use Vampirism to counter that burst.
Schwahrheit, #1 Fuhrer NA, Just your everyday typical rager
Hint that was actually given by the Dev’s guys.
(-Meta has changed.- find a medium- Be more tanky or get bursted by all classes.)
& this is my piece of advice. Stop complaining & have a more creative way to play.

That’s my point, cutting them out of stealth is not the logical conclusion because it’s magic.

Yeah, it’s a matter of players not playing right. Playinga tthief main my self I have had matches where as soon as I show up in a team fight I have 2 or more of the other team on my kitten like glue. that kind of pressure means I can’t just yolo stab because I’m running around trying to save my sorry kitten .

All I’m hearing is, “my positioning is bad and I waste my stun breaks.”
LMAO. With Mesmer 10~20 secs of stealth, they can stealth in places that you can’t see and come near you and spike you. There’s no “positioning” in it at all. How can you prevent something you can’t even see on your screen? Also their burst damage is so high since they did all the preparation while in steath, so you’d eat a full combo if you don’t have invulnerable skills.
Guess you’re those mesmers who do that.

Well, unless your a squishy & have no stun break. Not much.
But if your lets say medium size tankier, well guess what. You wait till either he comes out of stealth or that he makes the first move. Get ready to stun break if necessary & do your rotation. If you cant figure out witch is witch, kill em all. Clones & illusions pops like baloons. If you cant skill that, well i hate to say it , but your playing like a scrub & need more practice.

Except not everyone is running premades and not every pugger is smart.

So you want the game balanced around pugs and 1v1s rather than team play? yeah..

If you’re roaming ALONE in conquest, without a stun break, built squishy, then yeah getting killed is the risk that you take.

Listen, I get that they balance with competent players in mind, but eve you have to agree that some of this is a little crazy.
“More visible tell”? Is there any tell at all other than projectiles stopping halfway when they cross them, IF they are not piercing projectiles?
Or, you know, buff the HP/toughness pools. Support Guardian dies rather quick in teamfights which should not be the case.
Such a waste of nice Shouts Q_Q

some hp pools have theoretically been buffed.. but it was not enough. if we keep this up hp pools will go towards 30k which will counter condis more than direct burst. i would be happy with a better toughness scaling. a friend of mine did a test and apparently from 3000 to 4000 toughness it was only roughly a 8% damage decrease…
right now it’s protection > toughness.
