stomping broken, especially revenants
It is like their slow ability
The slow desyncs the animation with the actual stomp.
Just take your time, trust in the stomp and wait a bit after the animation is over.

The trick to stomping revs is to make sure you clear slow before you start the stomp. It works the same way as quickness in that if it’s not on you the entire stomp, the stomp will take the normal time even if the animation is desynced.
Anet really needs to fix the animation for quickness/slow stomps since they’re super broken.
It could be that old bug where the target isnt where they appear, so even though you’ll channel a stomp, the spike won’t hit and kill them. You can use a ranged attack or leap to figure out where they really are and try again.
Also, slow on downed AA was a ridiculous idea, or brilliant, depending on which position you’re in -_-u
Slow is an awful debuff in general. There is nothing more painful than slow for a staff elementalist. 1 +3/4 cast times were designed without having slow in mind at the time.
You get destroyed by slow, and if you get quickness, it does not even help Eruption, Lava Font, Ice Spike still since they still have a huge delay to land.

Agree, slow/chill destroy Ele so badly.
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.
thanks for the replies. I do think that I let my stomps finish all the way.
Do they not cast slow with the auto attack? but then how can I cleanse it before stomping if they keep applying it? Slow is added mid cast, not only in the beginning, isn’kitten
I will see if I can record some matches where I am trying to stomp revs today so I can see if it is just a problem of not letting it finish etc.
Slow destroys everything and i dont know who had that briliant idea behind this condition. Now we gotta live with this junk. It also feels like it raises casttime by 100% rathen than 50% btw.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.

And I am pretty sure slow is bugged… When some chronomancer does a lot of slow, I have this feeling that everything goes slower around them? Is it just because it mess with my brain, or is it because slow last longer than the condition?
sadly I did not manage to record any video because my windows game bar is bugged.
I did play more matches however and the stomping problem is not isolated to stomping revenants.
I had the same problem with a thief today and a necro. I stomp, it completes but it does not succeed. No interrupt, CC on me etc. I stomp several times and eventually have to dps them down. If i can dps them down, it means they are where i think they are.
This bug has literally been in the game since it was released.
Quickness (and therefore, slow) always frakked up stomping, especially when it ends before the actual stomp. Warriors and Thieves had this problem back in 2012 when the game launched and they used their quickness skills in their zerker builds.
The bug is as follows, only with slow it’s much more gamebreaking than with quickness: While the animation instantly gets faster or slower if you lose a buff or debuff while stomping, the actual stomp mechanic does NOT.
So if you had quickness while starting a stomp and lose it shortly after starting, the stomp will still finish in half the time but the animation will take longer.
If you have slow while the stomp starts and you lose it while it’s happening, the stomp will still take the doubled time from slow, but the animation will finish before the actual stomp. So if you wait for ~1 second without doing anything after the animation ends, the stomp happens.
Consequently, if you gain quickness or slow after you’ve started a stomp, your animation will change but the actual stomp still happens in the normal timeframe.
I – and I guess many others – have reported this bug multiple times since game launch but it wasn’t even acknowledged once.
Arenanet bugfixing. I can’t even.

Animation usually screwed up but the yellow light that slowly falls on rev has been more consistent (still fail couple of times though).
