I don’t see how this matchmaking is balanced whatsoever. If someone could explain this to me, that would be awesome. The last player on our team that left was level 11.

Matchmaking is done based on mmr. If you take everyone’s percentage rank, counting level 1 as 50%. The two teams will be relatively close.

Yeah, that’s the problem. It’s working correctly, but it starts new players way too high when it should be starting them at 0%, imo.

The conquest mode population is too low for Tpvp and solo queue, systems like this work if people play. People are not playing because conquest is a boring game mode there is no fixing matchmaking with conquest.

This is something Anet can not fix until they move to deathmatch, only deathmatch will fix the population issues, even if only a fraction of the GvGers decided to join a mist pvp deathmatch population world be fixed.

And here I was wondering why I’m getting matched with people that keyboard turn, can’t res, can’t stomp, fight off points, can’t dodge or talk in teamchat.

I dont usually get frustrated but this is by far the most frustrating pvp game Ive ever played. I miss warhammer.

I just got out of a match where 3 of my teammates sat at Raven trying to kill a bunker guardian for the ENTIRE match while they left two of us trying to defend the orb/cap wolf and bear. I kept typing in team chat to get off raven because they arent doing ANYTHING literally, anything and they wouldnt do it because “they wanted to test their abilities at killing a bunker”. After the match of course I rage PM’d them, got ignored by 2 and the third guy told me he likes to que for tourneys so he can make gold. QQ Solo Q used to be fun when I was in the top 200 but after losing 6 matches in a row because of afker’s Im stuck in the % again and cant get out of it because I keep getting matched with the biggest idiots 90% of the time.

Anet has kittened up next to everything in the game.
They literally can’t tweak specs to improve gameplay.
Their mediocre to straight up bad fixes come at a terribly slow pace.
Most patches come with more unintended ‘features’ and half thought out fixes than not.
Their UI is terrible (dyes I kittening hate you)
Their match system is terrible (S/TPvP, not ranked/unranked with SPvP allowing you to play with friends)
Their matchmaking is terrible (imo almost worse than complete random)

It’s actually quite amazing, I’m at the point where I think they are legitimately trying to be the biggest letdown an MMO has ever been….

Stagnating the game for PAX with everyone saying this game is at the worst gameplay it has ever been?!?!

Splitting solo and team que?!?!!?
With it they are trying to fix the issue of the que system they can’t make work with the small population they can’t increase… but those very issues mean a split que can’t work…
It’ll only end with a deserted group que, then a game that won’t even let you kittening play with friends has commited suicide.

This is the number one issue that makes me not want to play spvp right now. Even though I sometimes get a little star struck getting matched up against top players, in the long run, it’s really not fun being on a team of mid rank players and going against a team of rank 50-60+.

This happens way too often, and I just recently had the most disgusting match up yet (wish I screen capped it). Enemy team: Caed, Cruuk, Gari Gari, Avolition, Venus.
I know Cruuk is at least rank 60, I think Caed is almost 60, Gari Gari is 64, and I think the other 2 were over 50. And ALL of them are top players — all of them are top 100 on the NA leaderboards for solo queue except venus who is top 200.

Our team: as far as I could tell/remember, we were all rank 30-40. A couple of us were maybe top 1000 on the leaderboards.

Again, getting matched up against and destroyed by much more experienced and higher ranked players happens to me pretty often. This was just the first time I happened to recognize so many of them as famous top players.

The only good part is being able to say I dropped and stomped Caed… one time =P
But that doesn’t help much with me not wanting to play because of this matchmaking problem.

Solution? I don’t know what it would involve on the technical side, but if there are so few people playing that the game has to match up lower ranked players with high ranked players, it would at least make it bearable if we were more evenly split up on the teams instead of facing such ridiculously stacked teams. Is it really that difficult to make it so that 2 of those rank 60+ players got switched to the other team? I don’t know, maybe it is.

The leaderboards do not mean kitten at all lol. But yes those are all good players.

The leaderboards mean everything. They decide who ques with who. If youre in a percentile, you get qued with people that dont care or dont know what they are doing and you’ll find it extremely difficult to make it up to the point where you can play with players that know what they are doing. Basically if youre ranked low, you have little fun.

This isnt true at all lol. Have you seen how matchmaking works?

When I was top 100 I was getting matched with the top players and it was a lot of fun. Regardless if the teams were stacked more on one side. Now that Im in the 900s again because of afk losses, my teams are SO bad that they never know what to do and think they are only there for gold.
