Over the past week or two, numerous players on this board or that I’ve talked to in game have complained that they “can’t try tpvp because they don’t have a team and there’s no solo option.” Obviously this isn’t the case as free tournaments can be solo joined. The issue appears to be a problem with the Tournament PvP browser design. While it is alluded to that you can solo join if you run through the NPC’s dialog options, it’s really not clear how to solo queue as the options all appear to describe a full team joining. The fact that it defaults to paid tournaments doesn’t help matters either.

I’d like to propose making the free tournament screen the default when talking to the tournament NPC, and adding a clear “Join as Solo Player” button to the browser for free tournaments. This should reduce confusion, and scare fewer potential players away before they’ve even tried the mode.

+1. Since hotjoin isn’t in great shape right now, tournaments should be more inviting for new/casual players.
