thoughts bout DH (correct me if i'm wrong)
Maw is really countered by an enemy bunker, and the heals/stability will get them right out of a pickle. Being “caught” by the DH should punish you – that trap has a flashy animation and is easy to dodge out of. The only change that should be made is to make the instant unblockable daze trap adjusted to no longer be instant.
OP tldr: I can already avoid the damage by dodging but I want to be able to avoid the damage and still have all my dodges so DH’s are left with no spike and poor sustain since they lost utilities to bring traps. Help ObiBAN KeNERFi, you are my only hope.

You are not wrong. Traps have been in the game since launch but there haven’t been many complaints about them because up till now traps have been kind of on the weak side.
I don’t think the cds are too short, its more the incredible utility each trap brings in addition to damage or providing a set up for massive burst damage. In the past on other classes you had to choose to take stability/stun break/other buff/debuff, but DH traps have these built in.
The overall synergy of the skills and traits like the daze on traps and auto knockback+stability on bow, unblockable pull, instant cast traps etc, just take DH into a realm far beyond what we have seen before with trap based builds.
As an idea of balance you can look at what is almost the mirror of DH, a trapper ranger. In the ranger’s case you can achieve high condition damage with traps, but you have to sacrifice a stun break, stability, and other buffs while also only being able to trait traps for cripple and not having any simple way to keep players inside your traps (eg daze, pull, slow, etc).
Thoughts about DH? Rally bait. Equip heavy conditions and rally off them. They die so fast you won’t even get a chance to stomp them.

gotta be real here. myself and all of my pals who are good at pvp find DH annoying but very straight forward to deal with. I know players who are kind of scrubby and just YOLO into the traps and die and complain, but most of them learn their lesson- or at least they should.
I just rock into the traps, thunder clap, blind field, leap and blast my water back to full HP, block, Cc the dragon hunter and in general don’t give a swag.

I just tried the DH for the first time and WOW. Hilarious! I watched a mesmer run around me from mid and go onto our home node, get destroyed. He then proceeded to run from spawn into the traps 5 more times until the end of the game. I kept thinking, isn’t he going to use his gs to attack me? Nope. I realized what the complaining about is. It is so faceroll to kill players with a trapper. However, when I fight against them, they don’t seem overpowered. This reminds me of Turret engineers even more now, except this one is less annoying. DH will probably get nerfed, but not because they are overpowered in ranked arena, but rather, there are enough players that play that just can’t understand how to fight trappers. I died 0 times that game (obviously cause my opponents were kitten) wearing berserker gear. I had 14k hp though due to trait. 0 deaths 13 kills, all while guarding home. I do feel tempted to ride the mmr on the guard until I start to reach opponents I can’t best.
