Yea its a decent 1v1 build.
I would take empathic bond over barkskin though (even if it kittens the pet).
Lately ive been trying full bunker cond with balthazar (10sec burns every 12 with torch) and shouts with regen signet.
It works well too, while not being as reliant on pet damage and gives some utility (regen/swiftness).
I think these are the rangers only 2 builds for small scale skirmishing

this build is bad, you cannot not counterpressure and you cannot outsustain any decent player while you lack range damage. There are better choices than this. The times of ranger as a melee class are over.

Using Settler or Cletic for solution is just a worst idea.

You do no dmg and better play other class that can bunk and might stacking the same time.

i do good when it comes to killing i have had no trouble what so ever except what i said in post melee ranger are over? i walk all over 90% of the rangers with bows.

is it me or you that don’t understand what i wrote ? lol

Standard spirit ranger is better than this thing.

Any engi would totally destroy you on point.
Same can be said for every warrior.
Your only threat comes from torch 4 and axe 2. And being cleric, any thief with 30 in trickery could just use the stolen skill and blast it without any problems.
Condi Necros would eat you alive.
Decap engis would fully cap a point if you are a close defender.
No team support (no CC, no boons, limited damage, no ressing potential).
I fail to see a “meta” build that would lose to your build. Even a staff guardian could stall a fight indefinitely against you lol.
Keep playing it if you have fun though.

Maybe you don’t understand, Conquest is a team game mode. Running 3 personal, passive signets and one of the worst elite skills in the game so that you can grind out a 1v1 against someone who doesn’t know what they are doing doesn’t make this build good, or even remotely viable for top tier pvp.

Not going to lie, this build looks much better for WvW than it does for sPvP. I don’t think a Ranger built around regen helps the team out in anyway. Sure you’ll win some 1v1’s against less skilled players, but in a teamfight, this build is close to useless.

True, there is minimal team utility, that has been 1 of the major complaints for rangers outside of spirit rez botting.

That being said, cond/bm bunker are the only decent builds Rangers have.

That build would suck in WvW (signets + conditions with close to zero CC)

Coming from a experienced WvW Roamer – it is rubbish
In PvP – It is well, not good. It will work in SoloQ for sure.
In PvE – Good luck finding a group.

1. BM has 0 Teamsupport if u are only succesfull to beat hambows witch BM change prfession for this meta.
2. I cant see offhand Training which is a must have in a meele based weaponset.
3. Always combine the weaponsets so that u have an evadeskill on each set.
4. Horn is usless in tpvp
5. u should always take wolf in tpvp to support you rezzes while other wanna stomp or at least the throwdown in 1vs1 when enemy is getting below 50% maybe rupt then u can go for the fear.

And a thing which is very important without the procs of sunspirit your bleeds will always be removed first when enemy has a condiclean like smite or the thiefs sword 2. and your pet can also proc it so u will lose a lot of dmg.

i tried BM / survival builds / shouts and spirits.
and spirits are still the best but in current meta u should only play ranger if you love the profession ….

BM does have some team support with pet F2’s, Invigorating Bond (up to 2k AOE heal every 20 seconds), vigor on swap and AOE/single target CC.

but apart from that, i agree.
