i joined tpvp as a 4-man group and had 1 random player. we were all around rank 40 and the randoms were always around rank 10.
this happend more than 5 times in a row.

does this happen to you too? does someone know why ?

Yeas it does. It happens because it’s programmed like this. I kind of get it though. Players who don’t want to jeopardize their rating have to buy new accounts if they wish to go solo/duo/trio/quadro queue = more money for ANet.

Its not just the programming, its the lack of a community combined with a community that whines and cries for everything. People didnt like waiting 10 minutes for a solid lineup so they cried about wait times and the devs had to speed up the matchmaking search. So, now we get stuck with rank 10~ players on our teams.

Im rank 40 and yesterday I queued with a rank 41 friend of mine and the other 3 people on our team were literally rank 1 and the opposite team was between rank 45-55…

Part of this problem could be solved by implementing a separate ladder for solo-queue matches. Right now, very few good players are pugging because they know good and well that it’s ladder suicide. So it makes sense that there are no experienced players solo queueing to fill your party of four.

there was probably no one that high or rank solo queing. 40+ takes some dedication. Most players time they reach that they found a group.

Happens all the time. It will put rabbit ranks on my team against a full premade of 40-50 ranks. Seems to me the matchmakers goal is to create a matchup as fast as possible disregarding everything. Also there aren’t that many that pvp players you can blame the developers for that because they barely put any time into pvp so many have abandoned the game

Feels bad to be on the opposite side of this too. I have no idea why I’m being matched against a stack with several top ten ranked players on it. Oh well.

They aren’t new accounts played by experienced players. They are true newbs 95% of the time. Because of laurels and now leaderboards there are tons of new people in tpvp. Leaderboards have been out less then a week this has been like this ever since laurels.

tourneys are free and you can pug them.. why wouldnt there be low ranking people in it..
