transform Stronghold into GW1 GvG
gw1 guildhalls had more than 1 path to the lord though. Every base had 2 different entrances. One lead directly to the flag stand and the other one did not.

I addressed that in my second point. GW1’s gvg teams were 60% larger than GW2’s pvp teams. Which is why I suggested only one lane. It would be easier to form teams and will also shorten the queues. Moreover, it’ll make the map more compact and thus more engaging.

Evidently though, barely anyone cares anyway. Seems like we’re stack with only point capturing for the rest of GW2…
I would actually really enjoy this. But I think it may be a little risky, from a development perspective, so I don’t see this happening any time soon. Stronghold was their first take on a “GvG-like” mode and it failed to take off. I definitely feel like they should play with it more before giving up, but there are other issues with Conquest / PvP in general that should take precedence.
All welcome; casual, hardcore, competitive, teams or guilds!

What I wanted to say is that gw1 maps had more than 1 “lane” for a reason. By having only 1 lane, the gameplay becomes too simplistic.
Conquest has 4 objectives (3nodes+secondary mechanic) and 5 characters is enough to cover that.
Popular mobas have the same team size as gw2 and have 3 lanes + secondary objectives (jungle camps, baron and dragon in lol, roshan and ancients in dota2).
It should therefore be possible to cover 2 lanes that lead to the same objective with 5 players.

@Erzian, You’re right. I don’t have much (relevant) online games experience outside of the gw franchise.
