Every time I see a Warrior on my team, I want to AFK too… but I don’t because you can loser tiers in Ruby rather than only lose pips. Maybe they should just ban them from PvP.

Maybe its because warriors in current state of the game are useless for a team. I do agree that if your opponents are bad, u can get carried by a competent team. But thats it. If your opponents are semigood, its basicly a 4 v 5. So i dont blame him going afk. Yesterday had a few games when there were 2 warriors in my team. They were useless and yes we lost all of them, because 3 of us couldnt carry them.

Yeah I have to agree with so of the other posts in here. With the match maker system as is after a 10 game plus losing streak and on top of it, to see you enemy team with a proper comp and you see a warrior on your team. 9/10 would afk at that point too a %99 lose chance before the go of a match isn’t worth time and effort for many any more.
I honestly don’t think the afker needs to be banned, in fact the afker is in fact a victim in this as well most of the times. Last I checked this was a competitive game mode not some hand me down wins free giveaways to people the system sees fit. In most cases of people afking these days, it’s a blame the system not the player situation in most cases. Be lucky that these afkers are still trying and populating such a abusive and non – competitive system. Those are my two cents, laters.

There are very specific instances in this meta where a Warrior (if he’s good) running the appropriate build will actually give your team the advantage. Warriors can absolutely shred and lockdown Reapers faster than anyone else can solo, nevermind having the rest of your team there at mid to finish that reaper off and make it an immediate 1-person advantage.
There are two problems with this:
- Not many Warriors playing Warriors really know how to play Warriors in this meta right. I am seeing…an unfortunate amount of Warriors likely testing builds even in Sapphire.
- You will never convince other players playing a warrior in that specific set of match-ups that it is a good idea before they start tilting at the pregame. This applies to not just Emerald / Sapphire but at High-End as well. Yep, ESL folks are afking too.
Not even Thieves or Mesmers get this treatment despite supposively being in the same shape. It’s unfortunately one of the reasons why despite saying I would carry myself to Legendary on my Warrior, because I am not one of this terrible ones running Warhorn (…really) I stopped just because of this social activity.

I’ve been told ANet said to report AFKers for Boting. That’s what I do if we have one.
I don’t mid people going AFk when the score is something like 450 and we’ve got 100 yeah the match is completely lost at that point.

Yes and no. Ideally the necro should be avoiding getting focused, which simply isn’t going to happen as anyone with a semblance of awareness is watching for necros to enter the fray. A good warrior at this point should have a CD or two to immediately lockdown the reaper or necro in this case, either before shroud stab or after.
But like I said, I’ve seen warriors going up the divisions just running the wrong builds in the wrong match-ups. Disappointing really. Like why do Warriors feel the need to not run a shield is beyond me.

I really don’t understand why people afk in games because there is always a chance to win even when 400 points down so I keep playing until the end regardless of our situation because I have made some amazing comebacks before and also been on the wrong end of a few as well. Just yesterday I was insulted by members of my team because I was still capping/decapping points to try to win when we were about 400-150 down. I don’t care though because I find it funny when people get angry at me and for a lucky few angry people who rage at me I even send them gold (I sent 100 gold to a person who was insulting me through whispers not too long ago because it can really help me enjoy the game when people rage at me, lol).
But enough about the actual people who afk. I agree that there should be a punishment for those people because it can really annoy people and ruin their fun in game, which they should be having. I think that people who afk/throw games deliberately are supposed to be punished by Anet and although I can’t say whether they actually are or not, I do believe that they should be.

Skill trumps class: I went Amber—>Sapphire in 1 night queuing with a warrior teammate, and Sapphire to Ruby in 1 afternoon queuing with a mesmer teammate, the two most hated and “underpowered” classes.
