why is quickness usable?
i agree delete time warp
Ele & thief main (full ascended)
Down with the braindead faceroll classes.
so if i press nr. 6 i get “the mentality to kill someone in 2 seconds”?
did i just read THIS?
cuz sumbody at anet loves playing quickness burst class and it’s probably karl the class balancer.
ok serious: cuz removing quickness only in SPVP means PVE players will be like “HUHHhow come no quickness in PVP nao” and anet doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of PVE players.
once again, PVP sucks because of PVE. i’ll never fall for another PVE-PVP game again, ever.
I agree, whenever I pop quickness my brain’s mentality instantly changes, and I want to kill the closest person in two seconds flat. Luckily it takes about two seconds to get up from my desk and take a step, and then the urge is gone.
I for one am glad Anet didn’t let the effect last longer than that, otherwise WHO KNOWS what crimes I would have committed. Thanks Anet!
Delete PvE nao pls

TBH it probably shouldnt exist in spvp. Though warrior GS abilities might need adjusted to accomidate.
What is wrong with the mentality to kill someone faster in pvp? There are many games that have attack speed increases. In gw1 your spikes had to be over in like 2 seconds anyway otherwise a monk could just infuse (burst heal) them back to full and no one complained then. One simple dodge more or less negates most of the time of quickness anyway.

Quickness is awesome, the amount of burst that went with it on release of this game was just too much, I haven’t played it for a while though.
’In gw1 your spikes had to be over in like 2 seconds anyway otherwise a monk could just infuse (burst heal) "
Yea but your spike was using all 5 people coordinated to kill one person, and there was a healer healing and a protter protting targets, not just one person doing the 2 second kill, there is a difference. There was team synergy required.
This was 7v7 (flaggers gonna flag) situations, not 1v1 which is technically what is happening even when you are 3v3 with a person at each other point.
Guildwars one spikes can’t really be compared in a sense.

Indeed there was 5 people coordinated but the mentality still remained the same. As a Warrior spike caller you still needed to ensure your target died in 2 seconds. While the method was different your mentality was still the same (unless you were playing pressure).
So i ask the question is there a problem in having that mentality to kill someone faster?

In a team game expecting to be the one hit hero, there kind of is.
As far as having it 100% preventable (prots + infuse + rupts) there has to be a mistake in gw1 for the allied target to go down. Either the rupter lets it slide or the prot makes a slip.
A good prot monk + a good rupter = spike doesn’t go through since it takes so many people on spike there was more prevention in that game not only through prots but through rupts.
Basically a beast prot combined with a beast rupter keeps you alive no matter how fast the spike is unless it was something that obviously needs nerfing which those gimmicks got nerf batted quite quickly most of the time, anet did do a fairly good job on gw1 nerfs when required, sometimes.
They focused more on what needed to be done team build wise in gvg though, not always fixing things that were broken for a solo class like the w/a permanent kds.
Some games you’ll see two competitive teams spiking the hell out of eachother but nothing dieing, that is the prot, infuse, and sometimes rupter doing their jobs.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

What I’d like to know is why the warrior’s quickness skill induces 50% more damage, but none of the other classes do.

Unsure if im reading this as “why does it cause warriors to do 50% more damage” or “why warriors take 50% more damage in frenzy.” My apologies if ive misinterpreted your statement.
If its the former then you are incorrect as frenzy causes wars to TAKE more damage not deal out more damage.
If its the latter then its because other classes also get a drawback on quickness where the warrior’s one is you take 50% more damage. Rangers will not be able to heal in QZ and theives also lose the ability to regen endurance in the time they are in quickness. Each class has its specific drawback when using Frenzy.

Thieves also lose all endurance instantly the moment the use Haste.
Ranger dhou have all the quickness they want + amaizing survavibility + amaizing condition even with no cond. build + 2 pet helping them out… heh…
After Eles get nerfed the Pvp Topic will be all about rangers Op.
Remember an →good<- Ranger can’t lose against an mesmer. That’s the fact.
Rangers are sworn enemies of mesmers.

Frankly I can win any class 1 on 1 occasionally in SPVP, but has the highest chance losing to a mesmer or another ranger lols…
Mesmer can use the cheapest trick on their book to kill me while hiding far.
Yes my team can win if that mesmer doesn’t bother coming close to cap the point, but keep his 1200 distance illusion summoning/invisibility, but sill, I lost the duel at last.
The infamous eles and thief usually don’t post any threat to me in spvp.
But the true reason the ppl complaint of ele in tournament is not because it’s too strong, but it’s too mobile and too kittening in escaping and capping.
Quickness is an op newb ability. It needs to be available to more classes or removed.

I mean why does a warrior have to take 50% more damage. That’s what I mean.
As for your point, that makes sense I suppose. But 50%?! Feels like a lot :\
Fort Aspenwood
I would make it 100% myself. I like big damage numbers.
You basically do twice more damage during the duration of quickness.
I opened a post like this long time ago. I agree that quickness is a broken mechanic because it is too random (with sigils) and create a strange effect on finisher.

The only build that can reliably use sigil of rage is a burst sword thief, no one else should use it as it is on a 45 second cooldown opposed to a sigil of fire which is on a 10 sec cd( or was it 5? idk)

Makes me mad that quickness is getting nerfed too ;_;
Brb planned since launch for quickness nerfs.
My body is ready.

Sinoctis you should just conform and go d/p until Anet buffs s/d like I did. :P It’s wayyyy easier than what you’re used to playing with. It has far less weaknesses and requires much less skill. Bonus quickness isn’t needed to ball over everyone either!! So Conformmmmmmmmm XD
conforming is for chums!!!!!!!!
well, if they made sigil of rage 100% quickness and haste/frenzy/quickening zyphr 50% quickness, I would not mind at all but THEY WON’T. that or lower the cd on sigil of rage so its worthwhile.
Nerfing quicknes? You’re just asking to diminish any last hopes an honorable S/D thief has in pvp because without quickness, you’re basically swinging a pillow (too slow to do any considerable damage).
Yes I seriously think that a quickness nerf would destroy any remaining versatility of a thief and just result in more 1-shot assassins.

And seriously hurt gc warriors whether hack and slash with axe or hundred blading. 50% nerf to quickness would result in hundred blade lasting 2.63 secs instead of 1.75 sec.
