no wonder pvp is empty but whatever…
More people would have played PvP if this was implemented from the start. You still have separate stats and gear. Also have the exp gain from PvP to be significantly less than PvE.
Heavens Rage
No thank you, I was doing a SoloQ tourney and I was backcaping the enemy and then this necro with dungeon master title comes I told him Hey don’t you see I’m here? and He said Sorry I’m doing dailies…………………. We lost the game I cant carry pveers who cant do basic stuff sorry.
I play PvP more than PvE, and it is sort of annoying that I have no gold because of it.
I wish that too, tired of leveling chars through boring hearts/exploration, I would kill to have xp for spvp.
You would randomly level up and toss enemies around you 40 feet in every direction on the ding for no kitten reason :P.

Nough said
Would be cool if they allow the winning team in tournament to get a small amount of EXP or maybe tiny chance of getting a legendary precursor. An actual incentive to actually PVP and compete for something.
This however shouldn’t be allowed in hotjoin since it can be exploited like those skyhammer glory/rank farms.
The only exclusive skyhammer stream
Spvp yielded xp it would have been much more popular. Suggestion would be xp scrolls you can buy with glory.
If it had a skin shop where you could buy skins that you can also apply one time only in the main game it would attract more players.
Basically, the way its set up it delivers very little satisfaction to players. Most do their daily and log. The spvp community is not really attracting new players.

No pve’ers are doing pvp just for the daily. The laurel can come from the pve daily, the items would be useless, and there are far more achievement points for doing pve stuff. If a pve’er is doing pvp, it’s because they are interested in learning it and getting better.
That is something to be encouraged, not discouraged, and if you are having a problem with it, you should either 1) stop complaining about hotjoin teams, or 2) if it’s tpvp, take a moment and consider the implications of the fact that you have the same mmr as a pve’er who only does dailies.
Maguuma
This could be the only useful thing about spvp, leveling characters by doing something something called PLAYING THE GAME instead of standing near a crafting station like a kitten and craft your way to 80 (what a pathetic way to level up… must be one of the worst seen in an mmo to date)
i ask you the same question… why no glory points exp. in PvE?
i ask you the same question… why no glory points exp. in PvE?
who the f cares about glory? At least getting a character to 80 by playing spvp would be useful enough for wvw. i for sure would’ve build a warrior to troll with killshot spams but no way in hell im leveling up another character by crafting garbage.
I just wish I could get the cool skins without having to play boring as kitten PvE content. I’ve been trying to play the TP on the side of PvPing so I can afford a skin that I want but it’s not something I enjoy.
I think the biggest thing is for them to give worthwhile rewards they have to ensure it cannot be exploited and farmed through methods that are undesirable.
Leveling a PvE character would be pretty nice though, as I barely got my second character to 80 before I felt completely sick to my stomach and my brain started to ooze out of my ears from boredom. Yeah, I’m not a PvE person.

No,no,wait lemme think abou-noooope (crap forgot to say no)
So what you are asking is, now let me get this straight: Gain PVE exp for doing PVP?The Pvp side of things are already surrounded by point whoring Pve’ers because they want the titles, laurels, and a chance to say “lol i do pvp all da time guys”. Just imagine if they found out they can level up their alts by doing the ezpz hotjoins. I think ArenaNet’s goal should bring more Pvp players who play for the Pvp, rather than bringing in Pve’rs so they can level their up their characters. Meaning more player versus player ONLY rewards (skins and GOWLD). With all this being said I do agree with one thing, doing jumping puzzles in Pve should give you world vs world xp.

We have threads constantly about how to encourage more PvP, how to bring more players into the fold, and this is your response? No wonder the communities image is so kitten poor.
Think about it, once you obtain all of your weapon skills in PvE, what do you do until 80? Enjoy the content I suppose, maybe take in the beautiful environments so painstakingly designed, but that only holds some people’s attention for so long. In other PvE based MMO’s, you earn skills as you level up, slowly building your kitten nal until you reach the zenith of max level, when your character’s potential is laid out in front of you.
Not so in GW2. In GW2, you earn all of your weapon skills before level 10 of 80. Once you get tired of using the same skills over and over against the mobs in a Heart Quest area or one of the Events going on (often times repeating the same events), then what? What if you want to WvW? Is that really the best place to finally learn how to PvP? Of course not. What you end up getting is a hefty repair bill, and no money to spend on the retraiting from your PvE to your WPvP build. You learn how to engage another player by death>respawn 100km away>hoof it to the closest zerg>rinse>repeat until you run out of money repairing your armor.
At least if people earned XP in sPvP, they would be learning in a structured environment (say what you will about hotjoin, we all learned from it before tournaments), and earning XP when they want to head back to PvE land.
This is a solid idea that would stimulate a stagnate sPvP environment. It may not be the revolutionary solution, but its a step in the right direction.
