Let me elaborate, we wait 6months for this piece of kitten patch. No game modes no change to leader boards, same bugs if not even more bugs now. I mean really anet what were you guys doing these past 6 months, cause from the looks of it you were not listening to the community at all. Besides you getting the balance of certain classes totally wrong which i wont get in to.

Just a worthless pile of kitten patch. I do not really ever post on these forums but I am so frustrated as many others are im sure to watch this game just get so stale and rotten. I understand I do not have to play this game but I really did have high hopes that you guys would come around and this game would be great as it should be.

But i must say whoever is leading this game design and making or not making needed changes should step down and give some one else a chance, someone that is more in touch with pvp and what makes games fun, and competitive. I think the reason you haven’t come out with games modes is like i said above use do not know your own game there is no proper public testing, nothing.

I remember you guys said awhile back you didn’t want to do whack a mole balancing and so on, well what the hell do you call this trash that’s all we get is whack a mole rock paper scissor balancing it just unreal. This is just my opion and i wanted ot get it out there take it for what you will i am sure some people will agree and some will not, but more changes need to come in a hurry for this game to ever be what it could and should have been already.

I hate to agree with angry posts, but this patch is beyond ridiculous. Balance is far worse than before, and it seems like lot of time was spent on the leveling system that NO ONE likes.

As much as I don’t like many things with this patch (and I mean many things), its certainly not the WORST. That distinction belongs to the dhuumfire patch that killed what was left of pvp, leaving us with only the husk or a playerbase we have now.

I will also evaluate things more as they work their way through the bugs are introduced every time they change many systems. I will say that I have heard the balance philosophy there is: “Players don’t like when you nerf things, so we just buff the stuff the players like to play.” I hope that isn’t the guiding principle, even though recent changes seem to indicate it is.

Dont know about that,
got Ele main , full burst D/D (works so much better for me than celestial, celestial I always lose [maybe just a training issue, but dmg feels so meehhhh], full burst I win >70% of 1on1 and can deliver deceisive dmg in teamfight, playing that build since ele was underpowered)
Werent the only real buffs Ele received, that 2 GM traits that were as bad as adepts before patch?

Well I dont care anymore, have willingly stopped playing GW2 3 weeks before the “Bug Patch” (and dont come me with its not a bug its a feature)
Saw the Changes in Rdy Up and Co, felt no urge to return to this game.
Logged in for one game after patch and one game yesterday, still feel no urge to return, the things they addressed in the patch destroyed my last hope in that game, showing me the developers really try to get without a compass through the desert.
The only thing I still do and making much more fun than playing the game is griefing in the forum.

Let’s sum this up for PvP:
-still no new game modes
-still a lot of bugs
-still a lot of imbalance in this game (maybe even more to the new bugs)
-hotjoin will remain 4vs5
-even SoloQ often 4vs5 (and still huge queue times and bad matchmaking, probably due to the low PvP population)
-Commander Tags now visible in PvP …. lawl
-Skyhammer still in SoloQ
-many more

Maybe I should play GW1 again, which is a good game, this one (GW2) gets FUBAR more and more.

Hambow is still fine IMO….. if you want to dominate at skillcap you should learn a high skill cap class. Thats how it should be IMO

On EU the games seem fairly balanced. Mesmer is a little scary now, and engi is as irritating a matchup as ever, but every class can bring something substantial to the table.

If you run a YOLO warrior build you’ll get stomped now, but frankly that’s the case for every other class too.

Hambow is still fine IMO…..

Ofc hambow it’s fine, every time they tried to nerf warrior as a whole, they never forget to compensate hambow, not like other builds werent weak enough compared to it or anything.

this is just so dumb, dumb as hell, You should nerf hambow and buff everything else,
not god kitten erf all while preventing the nerf to damage hambow.

The balance team never pinpoin exactly whats wrong with classes, for example rangers issue was never damage but survival, instead they buffed the dmg to ridiculous level where they are 2 shotting people from 1500 units now.

Sounds like a classic by now…
Old example:

  • Necromancer community asked for sustain – they got Dhuumfire

Now look at this:

  • Mesmer community asked for sustain outside of PU – They recieved Torment on AA
  • Elementalists begged for builds to become viable – they got their old D/D back, with nothing else to it
  • Warriors asked to look at Hambow for the build was simply too rediculously easy – they nerf anything but Hambow
  • Zerker classes ask for a better position within the game – They nerf Thieves and give classes (huge) damage boosts (though we need to give it a few days to see how much changed for thieves)
  • Rangers asked for more survivability – got their damage increased
  • Guardians asked for… well changes – got… changes?
  • Community asks for Turret nerfs – they buffed Rocket Turrets

Sad thing is, if this is a picture of a general whole we are somehow missing out on, we will never know since Anet does not communicate with us regarding balance…

Luckily things are consistant as we will get Dhuumfire 2.0 with the Mesmer, now that everyone and his dog is flocking to it because “ah mah gawd it is sooo owpeeee”, resulting in even more nerfs for Mesmers which will not help them in the long run

Warriors will still recieve hate despite all the “unjust” nerfs to things that should’ve not been hit – forever Longbow

Guardians will… be guardians.. Have fun being a guardian?

Rangers will have their moment of glory up untill the Balance Hammer strikes their general direction (even though running Feedback in PvP is legit now)

etc. I think you know the drill…

As I said in another post : 2 years within the release of Guild Wars, we got Factions and Nightfall. 2 years after the release of Guild Wars 2 the added content doesn’t even match the one from Factions alone…
Sadly there’s no real goal in this game. PvE just farm skins and be fancy sparkling hero. WvW full of horrible players in zerking blobs( I play on Seafarer’s Rest), EoTM level up zone?…not quite as intended in the first place, but that’s none of my business…and the least worked on by the developers aspect of the game called spvp…which probably should be the focus point considering the game is sequel to Guild Wars…GUILD WARS. Not World Wars or Champion Farm for skins Wars..

Well devs just proved that they cannot live up to expectations from the first game and they will lose a big chunk of its audience. I watched BLU’s interview with one of the spvp dev about the future of the game and spvp and basicly he said " we need to take our time and input changes slowly to watch how the meta changes"
Guess what Anet..THIS IS A GAME..not the real world. You input changes and new CLASSES as fast as you need to so you don’t lose your base of players and give them new challenges. I guess for 2 years having just bugged 4v5 arenas, 8 classes with about 30-40 skills each is harder to maintain and balance than Arenas, GvGs, HA and the mini WvW(which i forgot the name from GW1), 12 classes each with 130+ skills.

p.s. And the constant tweaking and tinkering of traits is just ridiculous. Have you thought that you can balance out the game by adding content OUTSIDE of the current one, apropos new class?…maybe Dervish or Paragon?? You would have understood that if your capabilities were beyond coding or maybe your descision makers actually cared about the game.

It’s a new meta. It takes some times to find out what works and what doesn’t. You can’t judge a patch within 2 days. Sure, it’s quite abnormally buggy, but they’ve already begun to fix most of that.

I think it is fine. Most of the QQ is from PvE and WvW players anyways.

Warrior wasn’t changed at all. Just need to run a slightly different spec/style and you actually have way more adrenaline than before. So it could of even been buffed.

Surprised ele didn’t get a nerf though considering its position pre-patch as the most dominant class in pvp.

Have you tried the new arcing slice? You get the bonus damage even at a level-1 usage, only the fury duration changes. GS feels much stronger when I use it now.

However, maybe if you complain loud enough they might eventually let you move during 100-blades. They seem to give redic buffs to whomever whines the loudest.

I’m trying to speak objectively, here’s what I think:

Warrior – brought on par with other classes, GS still not really viable.
Ranger – now in a better position than before, but still not optimal.
Engineer – turrets needed to be nerfed more, QoL about FT, but still meh.
Ele – fine as it is, I’m glad they didn’t touch it
Thief – it didn’t need to be changed in the first place, especially D/P.
Necro – slightly buffed, QoL improvements.
Guard – medguard is now a viable DPS source, nice job on that.
Mesmer – QoL improvements, but they buffed the wrong things.

Frenk – EU

Hey all don’t get me wrong this really wasn’t a post about warrior nerfs/buffs or any other classes for that matter. It was mainly just a rant to anet for doing such a poor job listening to the community and doing the correct things.

Anet can spend another 2 years balancing a game or get it to a point then maybe just maybe make things like game modes, which in my opinion would promote new and different builds in it’s self. But no we waited 6 months for more balance. How about fixing leader boards and other quality of life things. nope that’s not what anet wanted to fix. I will however say i do like the combat log it’s a good start that only took them 2 years to add what most mmo’s have at the start, a detailed combat log.

Any how I am done ranting i just didn’t want this to turn into a topic about class nerfs and so on, as there is a much bigger issue stirring as i listed above.

Arcing Slice does less damage than two auto attacks. In most situations, you give up too much to justify activating it. Either you’re full glass 6-2-0-0-6 and you lose Berserker’s Power and Heightened Focus for a period of time that completely nullifies the damage boost, or you are 4 into the defense tree and you’re giving up Adrenal Health. It doesn’t do enough damage to warrant it’s usage in most situations. Also, warrior was not brought on par with other classes. Pretty much every top warrior I know right now has swapped to another class, primarily elementalist.

Pretty much agree with everything except warriors. That said, I do believe that warriors should not have had their GS adjusted and I don’t think the adrenaline changes were needed. Warriors need one change and that is when under the effects of endure pain (utility or trait), they should not be able to contest or capture a point.

I think what warriors needed was to split Cleansing Ire into two traits. Then warriors either have to choose two of condi clear, defy pain, merciless hammer, or extra adrenaline.

The PvP playerbase tripled after that patch.

I think competitive players overestimate the importance of balance. Good gameplay, incentives, and modes are much more important.

The dhuumfire patch wasn’t the one that gave increased incentives and improved playerbase. The dhuumfire patch was the one that deleted the competitive scene just prior to PAX by introducing the condi meta and full-power hambow.

Supported. Also the balance of this game isn’t bad. There are things that are strong and others that are not, but there are many viable builds and things shift nicely.

Balance is clearly not the limiting factor to PvP atm, the lack of any IG competitions and the lack of gameplay variety is. The new rewards already do a ton of good to the gametype.

It wasn’t gutted. Just run signet of rage and never use the active and you will have way more adrenaline than before and you will be stronger than before.

Ranger overbuffed? i hope ur not referring to longbow… Only nubs cant handle longbow rangers and if u get sniped in a team fight well thats about the onyl thign longbow rangers can do well from what i can tell. They need to do somethign well right?lol. Not a ranger main but i dotn want them to get nerfed wen they dont deserve it either.

I have to agree with the game getting stale and rotten with very minimal content for pvp since the game has come out. Tho I do not agree with classes being unbalanced still. I have played a kitten ton of pvp since patch (already have 2 glorious armor set pieces from solo q) and It has never felt more balanced. This is just my opinion tho.

Balance schmalance . It’s important, but for me, getting a new mode like 3v3 or arena is wayyyy more important. Plus balancing is hard, never played a balanced online pvp that has any semblance of variety
