wondering if anything new has been done to fix PvP or if they are still just catering to the PvE ppls, have been gone since october.

hey shadows wolf there are a ton of great changes I’d love to tell you about but cant at the moment but I will tell you soon.

Well you missed the Wintersday stuff, which by all accounts was well executed and very fun. As for sPvP updates and balance changes…come back towards the end of Feb and see then.

Not at this very moment.
Check back next month, some stuff should have happened by then.

I’m not sure why you see it that way, but since you’re only here for pvp then come back later as the above posts said.

its not even worth coming back, meta is completely broken because of these bunkers here and bonkers there, your bonkers will be clonked everytime trust me.

if you left in October the only real changes that have happened are a few balance changes. Everything else is pretty much identical. See you at the end of February!

sadly, no… just last week they update INVISIBLE ladder but now is still invisible.

Still catering to pve so the answer is no. Check back when the expansion is out maybe then we might get actual pvp content

main change is that tournaments were changed to only 1 round, no more waiting to the death…

second is we have some kind of invisible rating and tournament matches are no longer purely random, so at least my games are mainly balanced…

invisibile leaderboard is a point of interest too, but question is, how working it really is? because only thing we have got is information that it is in the background and not visible for now, nothing else…

Its not worth to come back atm, GW2 spvp wise is still in alpha.

You should check again in 6 months

you think these changes were not good? well, thats your opinion then, im enjoying PVP with rating (even if its invisible) much more then before it and the same with 1 round matches…

The biggest difference I notice from October is.

Tpvp is now accessible to more. Hotjoin is for duelling only.

I was doing tpvp last night with a 30second queue at 2am, as a solo.

If they are going to have a leader board they have to collect stats so it seems fine to me that it is not up yet. The one they had before was to be monthly so it will prolly show at teh start of next month.

If you’re here for PvP, then no. Just take another couple month leave and hope that Arenanet does something right for a change. =]

I took a 5month break came back and not much has really changed..
But there’s a huuuuuuge patch this month so I’m hoping for goodies

People in the forums will always tell you no, but GW2 has improved a lot and I think it’s worth trying

The game is free after purchase. Just test it out a few days, check out the changes, and if you don’t like it then don’t log in for another few months.

I came back a little while ago (bout a month or two) and have been enjoying myself since then. There aren’t really a lot of other games I want to play right now, either, though.

since you already have an account you don’t have to pay to take a look.

I would also say, that much has improved, pvp-wise.

The more players come back the better i will be – but i don’t see a game out there that makes more fun pvp wise ( mmo of course ).

You might wanna tell us what exactly are you looking for. We do have matchmatking/leaderboards, Custom Arenas and Spectator mode, but still no solo-queue or a satisfying reward system.

Balance is ok, and will be even better with this patch in a few days if the leaked notes are true. The balance problems at the moment are Warrior and Necro being underpowered, build diversity is very low (1-2 viable builds per class), and some slight OPness of specific builds.

The new patch (supposedly) buffs Warriors and Necros, tones down some OP builds, and tries to bring in some build diversity. It will probably solve in some part the first two problems, but I don’t have my hopes up for the thrid (build diversity).

All in all, if you’re a high-end player with a team things are looking pretty good, the Custom Arenas and Spectator mode have resulted in some fun tournies being organized.

They’re mostly fun to watch but have some problems – the clusterkitten of particle effects makes it difficult to understand what is going on, and the casters aren’t very good yet honestly (with the exception of Grouch I’d say). The dev’s said they’re working on a solution to particle effects, and the casters should be getting better, but I wouldn’t expect either any time soon.

However if you’re mostly a solo player, an update which brings in the solo/team queue split and some more satisfying rewards will probably be the one that matters most to you.

think i will pass A-Net has more than disappointed me this is not the A-Net from GW1 just 1 more giant corporate machine pumping out medeoker crap to bleed players for money for a sub par product.

kitten you guys this game is like a late beta class polish wise.
