I’ve done this twice now, I try to do this really long and annoying section of the personal story and the first time, the stupid followers just sit on theirkitten and don’t do anything. What do you want me to do arenanet? Waste more of my time by resetting it and finding out it is bugged?

The personal story isn’t hard, it isn’t spectacular, but it is long at parts, and to face long tedious times killing people, only to see I can’t progress with nothing to show for it, is spitting in my face.

I’m a level 66 engineer.

I have no issues killing anything, it just takes a bit because zombies are pretty tough.

But that’s not important… whats important is that the guys just stand there, they don’t follow me or do anything. They followed me for around about 2 seconds, and then just kitten off… at least they had the courtesy to tease me a bit, last time I did this, they never even moved.

Screw this, I’m not playing the personal story again, I’m not risking wasting my time only to find out that I get nothing for it.

Had the same problem aswell , i feel rly bad that i did the personal story quest and almost in end it bugs ,
i had enough droping the personal story from this experince

Just remove the quest

I’m quite sure the reason for that the bug is happening is because of something earlier on all I did differient was to make sure that the barricades, in the part where you have to get to the first survivors, had been destroyed. So I stopped running at the second barricade and just killed the things that would attack me. (though there is a graphic bug that can happen where the second does not disapear, the way to know whether or not that one is gone is to see if you can run through it).
I also did one other thing differient and that is to go up to the survivors after the barricades are done and then when the other event starts go back down to the second barricade and kill the waves of zombies.

English is not my native language and I have ADHD so I might be explaining it quite poorly but I hope it helped. (I was stuck on this thing for hours my self).

Edit: And it doesn’t matter if you or any npcs’ die.

Just make it so that if you, the main character reaches the end point, it skips forward a story step, just skip it.

Stop trying to fix something you obviously have no clue how to fix and give a reasonable workaround.

Or learn to understand that after nearly three weeks, people are fed up not being able to progress through one of the biggest selling points of the game. I get his/her frustration – maybe you sound like an elitist snob who’s beat the game already and thus people aren’t entitled to be frustrated.

Same thing happened to me. Second time too and it bugged at the exact same spot. At the last step to escort the second team to the exit. Everyone stops following me and one member teleported back to the spot where you first find Krewe Leader Dobbs. See attached screenshot.

I’m a level 62 ranger. One of two things I did during the mission comes to mind in what may have caused it to bug out. 1) After rescuing Dobbs I did not clear out the respawned mobs in the central dig site as I was able to get into the cave opening without aggroing everything. 2) I cleared out the southern escape route before I rescued the second team from the vet abomination. I don’t know if either of those actions borked the quest.

The moderator already requested the OP keep his post polite. You can be frustrated all you want, as long as you remain civil.

On topic, I noticed my NPCs not moving while I was in the cave as well, but I did a lap around a nearby loop in the cave, and most of the NPCs managed to unstick themselves. Had no problem with finishing the mission once Trahearne got to the mouth of the cave.
