If you ever played the original GW, you must remember how awesome it was to log in one day and discover a gift in your inventory that says happy birthday on it.

I for one, really liked that.

I think that this should be brought back to gw2.
each year, the day you opened your character, you will be rewarded with a gift for your character’s birthday. the gift may contain a cool skin, minipet,rare dye or whatever it is that you can either sell on TP or use it yourself.

This makes your character feel real. I agree this needs to be implemented since it existed in gw1 as well. Of course soulbound (would make no sense if it were account bound).

I think they’ll probably do it. We’ll find out in a couple of months anyway. If there isn’t some sort of birthday present then that’ll be really disappointing.

What’d be even better if they made the gifts based on how old your account is rather than how old your characters are. For every character slot you have, that’s another present you get. I may be biased though since I only have one character I made within a month of launch and the rest were made anywhere from 3 months ago to a week ago =/

What’d be even better if they made the gifts based on how old your account is rather than how old your characters are. For every character slot you have, that’s another present you get. I may be biased though since I only have one character I made within a month of launch and the rest were made anywhere from 3 months ago to a week ago =/

Or you get account bound presents for your account birthday and soulbound presents for your characters birthday haha

I actually like that idea. And of course, the account bound present would be quite a few times better than the soulbound ones in terms of awesomeness. Although, in GW1 I liked how the birthday minis were tradeable. Was good for the economy in GW1, imo.

Account birthdays could be a ticket for special “birthday weapons” or something for your first birthday, then minis for the character birthdays.

I thought that character birthday presents should be soulbound to prevent farming by creating more characters because you have more money than others. That would be unfair. So character bithday presents are soulbound to prevent farming by buying more slots. Then again account birthday presents can’t be farmed so you get an account bound item.

Yea birthday presents are a must. A shame that my main is only 3 months old while I’ve got alts that I’ve had since launch. But that’s just the way it is.

A calendar too would be nice.

Why?:
It gives an overview of the events & other important things happening in Tyria, it could also show massive world wide events (one a week or something

And that’s why I made all my characters in the first days of the game even if I didn’t play them till later. Banking on them doing birthdays again.

And that’s why I made all my characters in the first days of the game even if I didn’t play them till later. Banking on them doing birthdays again.

Yeah, I did that at first, but then I realize later on down the road I didn’t like the ones I made and I’d delete them to make characters I was actually in the mood for =/
