It’s not clear because it sounds like you are talking about the trading post and not NPC vendors.

Try making 10 superior arrow carts in the mystic forge, fun.

I once bought 250 units of a food item from a vendor and then sold the stack in TP immediately for a total profit of one copper for each unit. It was silly, and my finger sure was sore after.
