Taiwanese American here, I fully support the idea of adding Traditional as well as Simplified Chinese interface to the NA/EU client. It would be great if people could enjoy the game with original voice-over yet still understand the game.
West EU here, and also hoping for Traditional Chinese here.
The question or difficulty would be for Anet, how about names?
I think it’s quit hard to ask a American or European to write your name for an invite :-D
Then again, it’s also hard to invite a people with ê,é,à,ç, etc in their names
Personally, I hope to have Traditional Chinese text interface:
NO.1) I can fully understand the contents of the “main story” of each race.
NO.2) I can fully understand all the “mission of love” and “dynamic events” story content.
NO.3) I can completely understand the roadside NPC what to say about their stories.
All in all, I hope that Guild Wars 2 is a game I can play for life, thank you very much.
There was a time when NC Soft Taiwan abandon the maintenance of GW1. Anet allows the translation (mostly skills names and description) made by fans on GW wiki to be put into the game.
Though I never get my hopes up, I am waiting it too, one day it might come true, who knows?….

English is not that a big deal to me (I graduate from English Department), but as far as I know, my friends don’t play this game because of the language, no matter how hard I work to persuade them…
I have to admit, reading my native language is still far more convenient for me to understand the whole world in Guild wars 2, as it has so much information pumping up everywhere and so many key words that I have to check them up on the dictionary. Let alone other people who don’t speak English…
So a Traditional Chinese interface might be the solution, I can play with my friends while interacting with other foreign players when alone.
I must have to say, GW2 is totally a RPG,
so, a interface which I can read is very important for me.
I love this game, it gives me lot of fun,
but till now I can’t start my personal story because I couldn’t understand what the story telling. I have no idea hows Tyria going on, and I’m really want to join that.

Some player are not english speaker, so they are difficult to write long reply. +1 is much more easy for them.
I am from Hong Kong, although I can use English, i will much more happy if I would use my native language in game. I know there will be a separate server in China, but everyone know that China server use different pay system, and many players outside China is not convenient to pay in China. There are also players in other country using Chinese.
AT least, ANET should fix bug on Chinese character display in chat! Unbelievable an so-call “International” game have problem in displaying non-English letter…….isn’t it a sample Unicode thing?

I am not good at English so I can’t understand the story of GW2 very clear.
I wish I can appreciate at that story
Here I’ll sum the story up for you.
You’re a fresh new hero in a brand new world.
You save some people.
Everyone is happy.
You meet the Heroes of Destinys Edge. They’re grumpy.
You fight some battle near Lions Arch in a fortresses which is defended by potatoes.
You finally win the battle basically by yourself. You go to claim all glory and..
…A tree known as Treahearne appears out of nowhere and hijacks your story.
Battle after battle you win single handed.
You get no credit.
You’re not the hero of the story.
Treahearne stands at the back and tells you what to do, and then gets all the girls when you finally finish all his demands while you only get 12 silver and some rubbish bit a gear.
Final boss. Etc etc. Get to final fight. You think it will be epic.
Fighting the Dragon which pushed the gods out of the world. A dragon so OP that is can raise the dead and an entire civilization from the sea. Which is vaguely mentioned somewhere. I think I saw it on the GW2 teaser a long time ago.
You press the number 2 for about 5minutes.
Dragon dies.
Treahearne gets all the credit.
You get another 12 silver.
About 10 people clap. Some firework animation. No one really cares. Everyone knows that you only pressed the number 2 to win. They think you’re just some noob who followed Treahearne onto the ship.
What you thought was your lack of the understanding of English to be your downfall in the story is actually just a sucky story.

I personally have a hard time to see a need for this, especially since the game is set for release in China quite soon and one can assume that their version of the game WILL be in Chinese.
Another issue with this is that if they do it for China, why should they not do arabic interface as well?
And greek?
And japanese?
I can understand the issues people might have, but at the same time people need to take into consideration the time and resources something like this would take, and also the fact that most people have the ability to either read/speak English or the ability to learn it.
If they start giving interfaces to some languages then who would decide where to draw the limit?
