Elite Heritage Armor
No, there is already far too much linked and limited to GW1. How about you earn things in this new game.
What you earned or did in a previous game means nothing, earn your props in the new game. If you were asking for it to be earnable somehow in game that would be one thing, asking for something else for the GW1 crowd (which I am apart of mind you) is rediculous. I see this far more often by GW1 vets that cannot adapt to a new game.
No, you already have enough.
Think it’d ridicules that you get anything at all in fact. I paid the same for GW2 as you have yet I do not have the same access. GW1 is GW1 and GW2 is GW2. In it’s current state us players that did not play GW1 for varies of reasons can at times almost feel forced to go back and play a game that’s so stoneaged that it hurts to even look at screenshots.
Or just put the armor skins you mentioned in the gem store, available to everyone. Why does it need to be restricted to Guild Wars 1 players only? What does that gain besides annoying everyone else?
Nice idea but the current hall of monument items were announced 3 years before the game came out. So this would not really be fair to those who didn’t play gw1 its an entirely different game after all. Even if they made this 5 points for the elite version? 20 would be more fitting
I’m probably going to get flamed for this but I don’t care.
Calm down everyone, we earned those items. Why? Because the devs believe we do, case closed.

No kitten, that’s because it’s a reward for playing GW1..
GW1 is GW1 and GW2 is GW2.
That doesn’t mean anything.

Just wow..

They are exclusive rewards for gw1 veterans, they are not supposed to be available for everyone else. Besides, you can still get them if you play gw1.

It doesn’t matter whether you earn it in gw1 or gw2. The only thing that matters is that you earn it.

If it doesn’t matter where/how you earn it, then I have to agree with some of the other replies that it makes more sense to add it to the gem store or NPC vendors in GW2. Even though I played GW1 and have the HoM completed, I don’t think it’s appropriate for ANet to add further content to the existing HoM rewards.
As someone who very much enjoys mixing and matching armor pieces into fun sets, I like your armor concepts, and I support anything that gets more armors into the game, but I think any new content should be available to everyone playing GW2 without going back to the old game.

I just said ‘where’ (as in which of the two games) NOT ‘how’.
I agree anet should not add further rewards to the hom but I’m getting sick of people camplaining about the HoM in general.

Im gonna pass on this . I dont think it would be right for us GW1 players to get more than we already have in the HoM after release .

Actually I do have HoM, 50/50. What I was arguing against was putting the elite, new armor in game that the OP was talking about, only available thru HoM. That’s what the discussion is about. Not the old rewards.

‘How’ a player would earn these new armors is directly linked to ‘where’ they would earn them. Earning a reward in GW1 would be a completely different process than earning it in GW2. The two are linked, whether you said it outright or not.
Complaining in general is out of control on these and most other forums, but your aggressive posts aren’t going to help, no matter how frustrated you are.

It still doesn’t matter whether we earned in GW1 or GW2, which was the only thing I was trying to say in the first place. It was made clear long before GW2’s release that we could obtain these items by gathering hom points, and everyone who did gather them earned it.
It’s not like you get them for free…

The games are different. When you switch games what you did does not carry over.
The intrinsics of the games are different.
Prove you deserve rewards in the new game, not the old. Yes I have HOM rewards.
That’s funny, I was just thinking it’s about time to unlock some of these GW1 perks for all players to potentially earn in GW2. Didn’t think I’d see a new post that actually suggested that people who played GW1 deserve more than what they already got, but once again the internet surpasses my wildest expectations.
When you purchase a video game, your “reward” is the ability to play that video game. A lot of games these days go a step forward, with achievements and unlockables, and have convinced us that we should also be rewarded for playing the game. I’d wager that even in GW1’s hayday, attaining what level of achievements you did came with some manner of in-game reward.
It was good business sense for ArenaNet to offer incentives to GW1 players, as a way to get them to buy GW2. Maybe, for a time, it also drummed up some degree of last-minute GW1 sales before the new game came out. It’s also a nice display of appreciation for the fans who supported the Guild Wars franchise up to that point. I wouldn’t say you did anything to “deserve” such a gift, but it was cool that they offered.
However, the time to demand recognition for your accomplishments in the original Guild Wars game has ended. ArenaNet no longer profits in currying favor from you, and there’s no reason to look for additional support from the particular demographic of former GW1 fans. They’ve already given you free bonuses and gifts for your “service” to their cause, which with this post you have all but thrown back in their faces and denounced as insufficient to please you. And I highly doubt they have much interest in convincing newcomers to try the original Guild Wars now.
Get off your high horse. Your suggestions are at once ungrateful, self-serving, and implausibly ridiculous. You ask for headwear that involves the integration of a technology that they haven’t even perfected in the game yet:
“This hat is the first one in the game to not hide hair – instead, it comes with a set hair style designed not to clip with it. The hair counts as part of the hat and can be dyed.”
And then you ask for capes, of all things, which ArenaNet has also avoided due to character model complications:
“Winged shoulderpads that cross in the back to support a lengthy cape or cloak, which counts as part of the shoulder armor and can display your guild emblem.” What you want is not only selfish; it is completely divorced from reality.
I think you’ve taken the title “God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals” to heart, as you seem to think you deserve offerings of worship. Rather than presenting your ideas as a suggestion for how to improve the game for everyone, you instead have only spent your time considering how best to glorify yourself.

Wut? Did I miss something?
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.

Because the devs believe we do, that’s enough.
But to be honest, I’m sure the HoM items, or at least some very similair ones, will be available to everyone at some point. Most likely through gem purchases.

This is the most nonconstructive thread I have come across. HoM should be left alone, the skins there should only be available to GW1 players but new skins should be available to all.
To the OP I like the sound of your armour skin ideas, but they sound very different from the original HoM ones and for that reason should remain separate. Perhaps I’m imagining them differently to you though. Hopefully either way ANet will introduce new armour skins before too long.
