Equipment viewer
Also the ability to preview mainhand/offhand items simultaneously.
I was thinking just bringing up a window like the Hero screen when you press “H”. It would have all the equipment there and you could hover over the stuff to see the names of it and have the attributes listed on the right side just like the hero screen but you obviously wouldn’t be able to play around with it and move stuff.
The argument against “inspecting” is that elitists would use it to exclude people based on their setup. If all you want is to know the names of the various armor pieces and weapons, and you don’t care about the stats, then I don’t see an argument against making that information available.
Seeing stats leads to discontent, though. Besides, the other player might just be doing better than you because they are more experienced. (That is the main idea behind GW2 combat anyway… that SKILL should dominate over equipment. It’s also what makes elitists so ignorant; they believe that just because you aren’t running the build they want you to run, that you aren’t effective).
Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.

^ that’s my thoughts as well. The only way it wouldn’t be abused would be if it was only showing the skins in a way like the pvp locker in hotm. Granted elitist will always find a way to exclude but at least they have to be obvious by asking you to ping x items.

Except you can bypass it by saving link codes. Regardless, having preview with stats (and runes) makes for elitist gameplay, I’m not going to lie. Imagine if you went into CoF groups and they kicked you because you didn’t swap armors (they were in your inventory) or because your traits weren’t JUST the way they wanted it?
