Many of my IRL friends and Guild mates agree that Guild Wars 1 was more enticing to play because you could customize all 8 slots to make very specific and unique builds.

Essentially, in the current system, one’s play style does not change past level 10. This means players are playing the exact same characters from levels 10 – 80.

OK. massive +1 to you dude. i nearly stopped playing gw2 at around level 10 or so because of this. i projected what pvp would be like. i mean. the same old cookie cutter builds leads to easily anticipating the other players attacks. GW1 was incredible in PvP for the build variation alone. seeing the cast bar of the other player and responding in turn with something to counter it was very gratifying and fun. the combat is active and dynamic sure… until about level 15. then it sinks in. yeah, wow i really cant do anything else but this hundred blades. cool i guess?

- Animations for sitting in chairs and interactive seating. You have all these fantastic Inns and houses within the world and they all have such beautiful furniture that you can’t sit in! This is more for those who RP, I suppose, but you’ve got at least two full servers of RP’ers.

- For those who RP, getting timed out and booted from the server. Actively talking in say or interacting with an NPC still doesn’t keep you from getting kicked off for inactivity. Perhaps this is just a bug but figured I should mention it.

Two things I thing need to happen , how they would improve the game and how you can go about changing it:

1. The lost shores event was fun, it made sense for it to be lvl 80 content because of the small time frame of specifically the one time events. In future content like entire expansions I think it would be good for the game to increase the level cap upon release of an expansion. Make “guild wars 2: Kralkitorrik” lvl 85 or even lvl 90 content. Why you ask? If it continues to be lvl 80 content people will not experience any sort of progression in the content. And the dragon won’t have the feeling of being dangerous because he’s only as hard as zhaitan. If players now have to better their character in preparation for the dragon I think the fight would feel more meaningful and give a better experience to the players

Every new expansion would benefit from being 5 or 10 levels above the latest content, and with the way you guys do scaling I don’t think raising the cap upon release of future content would cause problems or “break” the game.

2. Soulbound, it’s my belief that having items turn soulbound when you equipt them makes for a really “thin” trading system. I want to be able to sell my old gear to players who want it. It would make it easier to make money back from old gear and give an easier time to players who want to buy pre customized armor. “Account bound” is completely understandable, there are items that shouldn’t be traded or sold.

Here’s my idea,
1. Take off soulbound
2. Add a sort of “lineage” to weapons and armor
The weapons and armor will say who crafted it and who were previous owners.
This will keep the incentive to craft as there will be a desire to be the one who
crafted the item.

Players might remember the name of the guy who crafted their weapon and recognize him in game and start a conversation thus building community

Those are my suggestions, I strongly recommend the first and the second is just a cool idea that I think would help the “trading system” specifically

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously, but here it is:

Please make “infusions” like it was in GW1. It was a gating mechanism back then too, but it didn’t require new gear — just modifying your existing gear.

So make the same thing in GW2 — a quest/story/whatever that takes your current gear and adds an infusion slot. * BOOM * not only is that nostalgic but it’s also fun. This way gear can stay “as-is” with an upgrade slot and an infusion slot. You can even get creative with how to get infusion slots, cost of infusion slots, etc.

If you want a grind, then make the infusions themselves the tough item to obtain — not the gear.

If you want “tiers” of gating in this mechanism then it’s managed by the tiers of infusions that you can slot (i.e. higher +agony resistance).

I would love to see something similar to what Horizons/Istria has done concerning new lands/areas, and that is make it a world event that involves not just adventurers taking care of things but also crafters getting in on the action.

For instance, the next awesome new area to be revealed is just beyond those currently impassable mountain peaks. Adventurers are needed to assist the meager amount of NPC soldiers that guard the NPC workers who in turn are actually clearing the pass and creating the roads. But these workers can’t do there job without the relevant materials (both mundane and arcane) nor can they subsist solely on fresh (?) mountain air.

This covers most all aspects of a PC’s life:
1) Assisting the guards (random defending events)
2) Clearing the general area(s) “ahead” of the pass (static mobs or random attacking events)
3) Assisting the workers (High count raw material events covering all tiers to enable all levels of crafters to help out)
4) Feeding the NPCs (so the chefs don’t feel left out)

This would turn the “expansion” from an timed event (which can limit player involvement) to more of a community event. There are several more things that could be added here but this is the general idea.

Hi! I love the game so much and I wish for this game to prosper and evolutionize even further, I genuinely enjoy the direction developers are taking us!
Please, keep up to the high expectations forever! =)
Also, may our communtity grow not only in numbers but in quality!

Now, speaking about my suggestion:

Please, make weapon skill slots customizable. To be more precise – let us swap weapon skills in places, just like other skills 6, 7, 8, 9, 0.
The reason I came up with that, is that I bound M4 and M5 (mouse buttons) to weapon skills 4 and 5. I’m trying to play rogue-like elementalist (thank you for offering us such play-style diversity BTW!) and I intuitively associate M4 with something “moving back” in games and M5 as “moving forward”.
Now, that would perfectly fit with the idea of such skills as “Ride the Lightning” (originaly skill number 4) (M5 – “dashing forward-style”) and “Updraft” – (originaly skill number 5) (M4 – “retreating-style”). So I want to bind other skills in different attunements following the same pattern.

So, I guess you are starting to see the problem here. I cannot do that, because in other attunements skills go in different order. We have “Burning Speed”, which is a “dashing forward-style” skill, but it’s in skill slot number 3. We have “Burning Retreat” (using staff), but it’s in slot number 4. The same slot as aforementioned “Ride the Lightning” (using dagger), which is a “dashing forward-style” skill.

I imagine it shouldn’t be too hard to make us be able to swap weapon skills in places.
I think other professions may benefit from this as well.

Please take the vendor at Temple of Balthazar and place it somewhere where it is accessable all the time, just untill you have fixed all the bugs in the events related to Temple of Balthazar. Perhaps put the vendor in Lions Arch or in Trinity Base Camp.

I don’t know if this has been already suggested or not, but it is dearly needed!

Why not let players who are on lower fractal levels scale up by a max of 5 levels from there current level?

This will stop ALOT of the fractal lvl requirement spam which is actually preventing some players enjoying the dungeon. Almost like its gated in a way, i know you dont want this anet.

If the 3 fractals are completed then the lower fractal players would still go up one level as normal. Yes it may be harder for them but they will get more rewards as its depper in the dungeon.

Another way to implement this measure would be to have the lower fractal lvl players scale up to an average of the groups fractal lvls instead of scaling to the highest lvl in the group by a maxium of 5.

i have some suggestions as wel, tho i dont know if they got posed before. 21 sites full of posts is a bit much to check on my own, so nontheless here my suggestions:

1. Please implement a Warningmessage into the Ingame Mail System that warns you if you are about to send a mail and forgot to put in a recipient, it happend to me as i was sending out some mails and hte lat one i accidnetly forgot to do that, sadly that mail contained some serious material attachment that simply just got lost in the void and regarding to the support no way to recover. This would help to avoid lot of frustration on many sides actually.

2. Please find a way to implement a system that actually records what you had in your inventory, both bank and character, it happened to me that during the progress of puttting a rare color into the bank, that i crashed and the item was gone for good, not in inventory or bank it was. Granted a color is not that bad to loose, but the same recently happened to a freind of me who lost a named weapon that was needed to create a legendary and that is more as frustating, as those items are extremely rare. We both play since beta and i havent found one at all.

3. World Map Completion – Remove the PVP Areas from that, it is overly frustrating that i have to go there and have no chance at all to complete there and as a PVE player only i find this a hassle and big frustration. There should be a nother solution to that.

This has probably been suggested before, but I would love to see the ability to do bulk forges with 4 stacks of items in the mystic forge – place 4 stacks of 50 items, get 50 results – and so on.

Or, if that’s not a possibility, at least stop removing the stacks from the ingredient boxes after each forge. It can be very tiring to have to reclick the same four items dozens or even hundreds of times in a row to reforge the same set of materials.

GW2 needs a feature that lets you plug in what dungeons you wish to run, whether story or exp, and which paths you are seeking to do. This list should be able to be accessed by anyone on the server (or subsequent overflows) and invites sent. I am not asking for a WoW autopilot system, I am just asking for a system where I can say I am LFG COE EXP PATH 1 and still go outside lions arch instead of spamming map chat.

Drawbacks? Possibly very few people will use it. But this will only be the case if it is poorly implemented. A good dungeon finder tool can be used by everyone.

There already is one, to an extent, easy to use, no sign up. But I don’t want the same system that WoW used, it ruined the community aspect for me. Even if you say not asking for a WoW autopilot system, you’re still asking for something similar.

Problem with that is every dungeon finder group I had when playing WoW, the communication was minimal and it felt awkward, like we where all using eachother for our own means and that MAYBE the case regardless, but it was underlined in the dungeon finder system.

I would love to have a dungeon finder. I am currently not in a guild, and the ones I tried I ended up leaving because no one ever said a word. So that didn’t help me find dungeon groups. I don’t really care if there is minimal conversation in a pug, either. In fact I prefer it that way because it makes the run go a lot faster. And I don’t really want to spend my game time standing around for an hour trying to find a group.

Customizable player housing/guild halls would save your awesome game. We need rewards that matter without having to spend weeks grinding for them. With limited slots of armor you either make us grind forever or fill up with exotics quicky running dungeons, either way people get bored and leave. We need more rewards to work towards, not just armor but if monsters dropped items to upgrade guild halls or buff defense or change size/appearance/ building materials, for example as well as armor it would give people something to work towards with out grinding a half million karma for exotic armor. This is guild wars so maybe guild PVP with the guild halls being involved would be another addition that would translate into e-sport. Well this is just an opinion from a long time MMO fan. (can the thousands/millions of people who have asked for player housing really be wrong?)

Hi, I love GW2 and I am always trying to get friends and family interested in it. I don’t think there has been a day since launch that I haven’t logged in.
As an avid player of the world. I would like to give you some of my thoughts on improving the game.

Things I think GW2 needs.

1. The Deposite Collectables icon on the inventory is nice, but would it not be good to have an “Always Depost Collectables” option that we can tick. That way it wouldn’t be a chore to do it all the time after getting a full bag.

2. There is no direct way for a player to give a sword to a friend. Trade windows exist in other games, why not GW2? ATM I have to open a email to send stuff to a friend who is standing right next to me!

3. The dreaded “F” action key. While fighting and having enemies drop loot, the “F” key acts as a loot key and also an NPC interact key. This means that unless I am super-exact on looting, I can 99% of the time open the NPC dialogue window. Man I can’t express how annoying this is in escort events. Why not disable NPC dialogue windows when they are being attacked or walking or when an enemy comes close?

4. The bank really needs an auto-sort button. I think I spend half my time trying to manually sort out icons into stacks. I had a friend leave the game simply because of this!

5. Not super necessary, but I think you need a “I’m stuck” option either as a chat command or option; for when people get stuck in the landscape.

6. Of course you knew I was going to ask for mounts. However, I don’t think you can under-estimate the power of these as collectables and things people will work towards. A friend who tried GW2, returned and opened up his sub on WoW again, simply to try and collect mounts! I mean come on, freaking kung-foo pandas over everything GW2 has to offer! Who are these people!?

I want to suggest that Anet gave players 2 or 3 huge zone in Tyria for players to build their home and guild house.
Players can buy their houses in the Cities too since it is huge.

2) Stop making instance dungeon for now.
Instead place more World Bosses in all the zones that will spawn if certain chain of events are triggered.

3) Set up a department of talented programmers to focus on improving the boss, mobs and npc AI. I saw an interview and the gaming dev said that most dev refused to improve AI cos it was troublesome and it would cost the company millions.
Average players has like 5 years experience in gaming and we are sick of the standard AI of an MMO cos it all the same kitten with different skins for every game. That is why most gamer moved on in a few months it gets very dull after awhile.

I love this game and have played it every day since launch. But there is something in the game that should be changed and I know alot of people have been saying that the legendary weapons are pretty much a no go for most players because they cant spend the time to get all the gold and other items it takes to make one. So here is a little thought from my end, I think that the legendary should be made so no matter what play style you like to do you can still get one, take me for instance I have 2 lvl 80 toons and 1 lvl 62 I have 3 toons that I am trying to get to 80 because I like playing the game but I dont like farming dungeons with random groups where some people are less than plesent also I really dont care too much for pvp because you get ganged up on so much and dont have a chance. So if you made different options for the people that dont like to pvp and we dont want to get 500 of those badges that would be great and the same thing goes for the dungeons. 1 of the biggest reasons I like guild wars 2 is because there are events going on in the world where you dont have to get in a group but you still work together with people. I like that it takes a while to make those weapons I just wish there was more ways to do it. Also all Karma armor venders should have obsidian shards I mean come on we havent had the one place that has them for karma unlocked in weeks. Thank you and I hope you do some of this because other wise more and more players will leave I should know I hsve played many mmos and saw the fail because of things like this.

If anyone from the Development Team is reading, do take note, because for me the game is beginning to die. Your determination to prevent people from farming and ruining events such as Plinx has made it almost impossible to get money to buy items from TP. When you have items on the TP higher than 100g how am I supposed to buy them? The new dungeon has so many problems, only yesterday, I fell from somewhere and was falling for 10 seconds only to found myself on a desert somewhere. If someone also disconnects, all need to go since he or she cannot join back. All other dungeons are dead too. I search for group for hours, no luck.

As for my Necromancer, where to start from? Minions when I am attacked look at the enemy. One on one I have no chance of winning, check spvp Necro Rankings.

You have an amazing product compared to anything else, I have spent hours and I would spent more hours and money on it but you seem to want me and many other players out of the game. Everytime you make it harder for us and what is the point of playing if I will need years to collect money and keep up with TP prices.

Since the last content, where I finished 2 parts only to find myself out of the 3rd part feast on precursors due to connection issues, I am disappointed.

Update the auto targeting system, current system is borked. Targets mobs behind you, obscured, furthest away from you, a weapon rack, a non-agro wasp, but never the target that is closest and actually hitting you. This drives me absolutely nuts!

Separate loot key bind. For the love of God!

Bigger dungeons, please! Having to turn down other members for dungeon runs is a ball ache. I would love to be able to run dungeons with 20 even 10 players. It’s guild wars for Christ sake, let us do things as a guild instead of a mere 5 man party.

More Guild orientated events and instances. I would like to be able to do more things with my guild as a whole instead of just doing events that are already swamped by other guilds.

Update the auto targeting system!

Fix bugs and update already existing issues before adding new content that adds even more bugs. 2 dungeons still haven’t been fixed since Halloween.

Remove the DR system, it’s the most idiotic system I’ve ever seen in an mmorpg. Why should I not be able to farm an area and earn items and money for my efforts? This system simply makes me not want to go into areas because of this. At times it actually makes me stop playing altogether because no matter where I farm I get nothing due to its hit and miss nature.

1) Make a place we can go farm without using our brains. Like plinx was. It was a great way to pass time and talk in guild chat. Now we gotta do dungeons to get anything worth our time because world wise 5 events/day are all that gotta be done.

2)Add gear with equal stats to ascension gear like you said to other ways. Like vendors and WvW. Only getting it from dungeons is pretty much WoW grind all over again.

1) A mechanism to unlock weapon and armor skins for the account. Advantages: something to achieve (collection all the skins), more variety in looks available to people, you can use your bank and bag storage for something else.

2) Some sort of LFG/Dungeon Finder. Cross-server that facilitates building a party.

3) Waypoint costs that don’t increase with level. The high cost at level 80 discourages helping out someone who is 3 + silver away from you.

4) Some sort of account restoration feature. I’ve been watching the hacked account thread with alarm. I don’t know that I would play anymore if I had to start over. You can’t start over really. Hearts can’t be repeated, personal story can’t be repeated. Honestly, I wish that was your number one priority. Every person who doesn’t come back due to losing everything represents actually several lost people because people play with their friends. Sometimes entire guilds leave.

5) Housing and furniture building.

6) Make items that are currently soulbound on acquire be account bound on acquire. Just have things that are destined to be soulbound, be soulbound on equip.

7) Have the blueprints be account bound. I’d rather stack them all in one neat stack and use them on one toon instead of having them take up so much storage space.

It’s a kitten conspiracy. Kittens gonna be kittens. All is vain!

I agree with the posts about player and guild housing. We already have the ability to gather building materials in the world, so why not let us focus on gathering more of that to build our guild’s manor/fort and our personal home? On top of that guild capes. Guild leaders like myself and my members want to be able to represent our colors and our emblem without being forced to buy a 5 gold backpack or a chest piece that looks far less than decent. Guild capes should be something we can research, and not be forced into a backslot piece of gear.

this is a great game, i am happy that i bought it
but there is alot of things that could change and be upgraded.

the only thing that bugs me most is the fast despawn rate of monsters who i killed..
right now if i want to catch all my loot i will have to loot in combat, and that doesn’t seem right :s

atleast make the monsters with loot stay longer so you dont have to loot in combat, and you still have your loot if you died and can’t be revived instantly, because of a event going or something

No, seriously. The muscular definition on males is superb and hunters and warriors, while they have decent armor, oftentimes look much better simply showing some skin. This isn’t World of Warcraft or The Old Republic where the body below is grotesque and poorly designed. We’re tempted at the starting screen to hide armor and see the muscular definition of a character, why not allow players to be able to conceal it? It’s simply a bad idea to remove armor, so why not hide it?

Please make it a priority to enable yourselves, as a the gaming company supporting this game, to being able to refund, remove, exchange, or compensate players in the unforeseen event of unfortunate circumstances. For example: Being hacked and having your items deleted, unauthorized purchases by malicious sources using your hard earned currency, and various other situations such as these. An event timer that allows you to select events to be notified shortly before they begin.

A selectable quest for building legendary items showing the needed items or gifts vs whats acquired.

world chat for wvw yes more smack talk b/c spamming /laugh and jumping on them is not enough.

more gem store skins pretty much only three armors and a whole bunch of town clothes bleh.

If you aren’t going to support open world then turn the kitten respawn rate down a few notches. Having to solo dynamic events since you forced everyone into dungeons FotM to be exact needs to be address the days of needing 40 ppl to do Temple events are over thanks to “Lost Shores”. So please adjust open world content accordingly.

1. While in the Heart of the Mists display Glory rank instead of character level.

2. Give the new sPvP panel a keyboard shortcut (and rebindable).

3. Items added to personal bank automatically combined with existing stacks of that item.

For conversations maybe add a option where you can select your own Dialog during cut scenes like in mass effect

Also for the guild halls you should do something like a housing system like in everquest 2 where you can customize the look of your room with items and trophies

The banner guild currently do not have much sense, I mean, everybody can use it and this is not an incentive for guilds or a reason to place them in places crowded with banner.
I think you can put a token fee of 5-10-15 copper for those not part of the guild and use them, the tax would directly into the guild bank. What do you think?

Regardless of your justifications of reasons for it devs – we NEED the old GW1 multi-profession unlimited free-build system into GW2 for it to survive.

It is currently a “pretty – but bleh” level MMO and certainly does not have a playerbase retainability factor attached.

Why break the BEST thing about the GW series?

I wish this game had some way to handle whispers more efficiently. Of the few things I miss from WoW, WoW Instant Messenger is the one I miss the most.

One thing that would be helpful would be the ability to sort gear on the trading post by armor type. It’s annoying and unnecessarily time consuming to have to sort through all the armor types to find the gear I want.

I really like the costumes that can be bought in the gem store, they look really cool!
But why can’t you wear them in combat? You should be able to wear it only as a cosmetic costume and still have your normal gear equipped!

Also ArenaNet would profit from this because more people would buy the costumes for their characters. Alot of other games use this because people tend to get bored of their character looks, escpesially low levels.

Balance classes and fix class feature bugs, fast.

It’s not fun for longer term if everyone and their mum is playing thief or mesmer. Hit 20k and invisible finishing move k? I know thief lovers want to backstab but get out that’s not how you should do it.

Fix targeting system. Even when you disable auto-targeting game still picks wrong targets for some odd reason even it is supposed to keep at manual target k??? Allow us to ignore pets and summonded creatures just target closest player. It makes zero sense to attack any minions. First you shoot ranger but then suddenly pet wtf.

Disable right click targeting now.

Fix WvW to use PvP balance. If you can’t just make it otherwise also use only PvP gear and stuff.

Improve wvw, add Charr Iron legion vehicles to wvw Scout buggy, Flame tanks, siege tanks and a behemoth (Large heavy tank.) You could Implement two controls points on each borderland (Iron legion Vechicles bases) on the map that will build these vechicles that can be driven by a player if you hold the base for long enough to give the base time to produce the vechicle light vehicle (scout buggy) = short amount of time to produce one. Behemoth (Large heavy tank) lots of time to produce one.

Have events like you did in the beta weekends, have whole areas of maps taken over by an enemy horde and a shout goes out for help.

Introduce roaming world bosses ( and make them large!)

Single player skill dungeon challenge (Made for single people that do not like to group or have not the time to find a group..the deeper you go in the better the rewards)

No matter what the majority will always like better gear with better stats, we need more better gear with better stats

Larger skill upgrads trees are needed for forts in wvw.

Listen to your playerbase and act on it.

Iam not really on with you on that.
I also played gw2, but iam not sure it was the thing it really gave it this long life.
Also it meant you could with ritualist solo everything. everyone knows this.
Iam pretty happy with the combo you can make now. and no, iam not play a mesmer nor a thief.

Iam with loads of the idea’s here, just not this.
For me they could tone down on the specticals here. causing lag imho.
And in WvsWvsW and big dynamic event they should adust this.
Even iam a big fan of fireworks.
The new dungeons are going the right way. but still need some work.
I mean give it more teamwork. wich is hard in some of the dungeons. noone plays path 3 of CoF because of this.
Also Bosses in dungeons need a machanic that people have to do something.
A kinda fase before you can nuke it again..
I also think the world bosses shouldnt be that hard for the reason of the casual player.
Dungeons like FotM should be more hardcore and should be more difficult then others. with a little and i mean a little beter rewards. This way you shouldnt be to overpowerd compare to the casual players. and i think they aim for that.
And instead of all the skills bring in more weapons we can use and combine. another way to solve your problem. wich imo isnt.

My major annoyance comes from the damage numbers that pop up in front of the enemy’s head, not even mentioning the XP gain numbers. Its good that they exist, but the 1st thing i wanted disabled in the game was the numbers.

There are many enemies that have good animations, that show if a dangerous skill is about to be used, meaning that you should get the hell out of the danger zone (not all skills have the red danger circles). Unfortunately, if you are ranged, the constant damage indicator numbers obstuct most of the animation. Secondly, i cant care less about how much XP i gained from a kill, especially after lvl80. The only good side to them is that i know if an enemy died, but i would prefer to see them fall instead of getting distracted by a number.

Again, its great that we have these numbers (for a time), but i think there should be options to disable them.
