Housing .... I think you lost to Wildstar.
I do not like at all the cartoon effect, but the general idea is good. it reminds me of the housing Runes of Magic
runes of magic had housing ? i did not know that ok that added on to my list of mmo that has housing.
OMG! If GW2 even had half of that it would be awesome. Love how they ended the video…“remember, the devs are listening”
That’s perfect! I doubt GW2 will ever have that level of housing though

The housing system in Rift is the easiest to implement in this game.
TO OP, not sure how they lost to wild star? Yes the housing looks great and has a lot of cool features on it. Although Wild star is lead in development by Carbine and produced by NC Soft, NC Soft also Produces GW2. I am sure if Wild star does remotely good with the idea of housing there, it can or will be implemented in GW2. Honestly it is a smart move on NC Softs part to try something like this ( they may tank or sky rocket ) in a no name game before trying it in their top title game.

I don’t know if I am right or not, but seems like a feasible move for NC Soft, although there has not been a release date on it and the beta isn’t even open. I am not even really sure player housing is that big of a deal.
You have to look at it this way, imagine there is a table with 10 people on both sides
10 players and 10 developers and even though your sitting next to the other gamer’s you can’t hear or see them, the developers can. The developers see and hear everything all 10 are saying. So what your likes and the likes of your friends are may not be the likes of the other 9 players. Now I am not claiming to know what is wanted or not wanted, I am just saying because I like something doesn’t mean that the rest of the players do. I do feel confident that if the majority of the player base wants player housing like in the sims or wild star that they will get it.
That’s really cool. Not a fan of the game’s art direction, but I love the implementation of that housing.
However, when seeing this, all I can imagine is the pitchforks and torches being raised by the ‘rest xp’. Am I the only one who imagines the entire forum breaking down into another ‘Omg! Now I has to grind 4 Housing!?’

Kind of depends on whether the rest of the actual game will be as good as GW2…

Who knows honestly ever since this thread I have never heard of Wildstar, so I been researching it and watching almost all videos on it, to be honest this is my initial views on the game. ( also take into consideration I signed up for the beta)
- It looks like wow, just a bit better graphics.
- seems to play a lot like wow
- has a lot of aspects of Gw2
- has interesting points to it, at the same time the points seem like they can become an issue quickly ( housing )
- There is a lot of hype about this game already and there isn’t even a release date. This generally scares me.
Hm this housing system looks kind of odd to me. Its just a House somewhere in the air. Absolutely alone on an isle. You have a garden, a few plugins. What is missing is life and some kind of surrounding. How often will you have a house party?
I think the only way housing could be implemented in GW2 is buying one or some houses in your instance. Difference here is that you have one house surrounded by even more houses. Problem could be that every human has the same instance, the same surroundings. How often will you look into some other players home instance?
Theres a missing connectivity to the rest of the world/city.
In GW2 there are big cities and it could be possible for players to “rent” apartments and houses there so they don’t become isolated in some instance(s) and all you use it for is extra storage.

The housing system in Everquest 2 completely dominates over Wildstars.
With Housing implemented in GW2, you could implement a new Craft – Carpenter, allow them to make items exclusively for housing.

Housing is instanced in the open world. Just like Personal Story missions in Guild Wars 2.
