Legendaries Unfinished
And who are you to decide if the items are “finished” or not? Or if the are “legendary” or not? Isn’t that all a very personal thing?

Legendaries are currently just for cosmetics. I do agree that some don’t seem to be at all polished. If it’s not going to look as grand, why not make it less difficult to craft? Is it Anet’s fault ? Or is it player’s fault for being so vain?
Weapons like kudzu and Eternity are very well thought out with the whole footprints and other effects when using while other weapons like meteorlogicus and the minstrel are rather ugly.
Btw, equipping Twilight or sunrise still doesn’t give player the legendary weapon achievement…. at least it’s not showing up when I log in….(

I guess he wants all legendaries to have footprints and some kind of on-equip effect on the body of the character.
But it is true that some Legendaries are easier to spot than others. Weapons like Dreamer, Twilight and Sunrise are much easier to spot than something like Incinerator, Juggernaut or Frostfang.
I thought GW2 was a finished product.
There is no such thing as a “finished MMO”.

I do hope they plan to make the efforts to make those legendaries more worthwhile .
It’s not a smooth “immersion” experience when you equip your Twilight and you still don’t get the legendary treasure achievement …
But, that’s not a big deal. I just want to know if transmuted legendaries will be left out in the cold when legendary weapons stats are bumped up (if they at all decide to release ascended weapons). Is there a ticket about this already?
I actually like the minstrel a lot and have decided a couple of days ago to start working towards it…
To be honest I like the fact that the effects aren’t overly shiny…

The body effects and footprints, or any other feature like with the dreamer and the arrows they shoot, is what’s lacking on a few still. It’s those effects that set it apart as legendary compared to others. The legendaries i mentioned all lack these features that a legendary should have in my opinion. Why else go for a legendary when there’s other weapons with the same limited effects already. Also i’ve read somewhere that anet wasn’t done on all legendaries because they didnt expect people to get their legendary so fast.
Nope, MMO’s are never finished, but if you implement a feature that is mostly based on cosmetics right now, shouldn’t those cosmetics be finished by now? it’s been over a half year since we’ve seen the first legendaries.
I am going for Meteorlogicus, currently at around 60% of it. I do have to say that I would love simple cloud footprints or something. I sure do hope that I’ll be proud to wield it and that aestheticaly I’ll enjoy the final result.
I’m just sad that the greatswords look really like legendary weapons whereas some others are simply neglected.
Please ArenaNet. I could at that effect over my lunch break. It’s not that complicated T_T.
The only thing that legendaries lack imho is the legend behind them. No lore whatsoever… this is not a legendary for me.
WoW did this really well (besides the subpar fact that you had to raid for those):

and this is only the last step of the legendary questline
Did they ever give Eternity a little bit of a boost? I remember that one standing out early on because it was missing effects like the footsteps Twilight and Sunrise have, both of which are needed to make it. I think there was also something about the trailing effect not working on Eternity when the weapon is thrown.
Either way, yeah. People have thought some of the legendaries weren’t quite finished since Beta and soon after launch so hopefully there are plans to finish them up a bit. I’ve always thought it’s kind of silly that ANET started pushing temporary episodic content like they are when there’s still a lot of the base game that needs attention/fixing more than it needs new content.
I’d love for Anet to announce plans to finish all legendaries.

Currently there are indeed several legendaries that feel unfinished. And also there are several craftable rare items that look far better than the legendaries, but aren’t considered as such.
I also dislike the process of acquiring these items. It is such a colossal grind. Didn’t Anet advertise this game as not having grind? What they should do, is tie the legendaries to progression in the game.

That seems a bit off topic Mad queen :P
