Legendary weapons and there effects
The mace is a freakin’ joke.
It is a disco-ball on a stick.
What moron thought “Hey, the players will feel like this is epic-looking and worth the grind/effort! What a great concept!”..?
Do you even lift, bro?

Agree on the mace….if each of those squares was instead a pointed pyrimid, and each section spun around, that might be kinda intimidating. But even still the handle looks fairly weak and too fluffy for a mace.
Needs to be more rugged and bulky / spiky for sure.
This is kind of what I think of when I think Epic Mace.
It is like half of the “Legendary Team” who designed the Legendaries thought they were doing joke weapon skins for the Gem Store…
I could totally see a “Disco Town Clothes” package coming with that mace skin.

I dunno about half of them, but ya I agree there are a few that are quite lacking.
The shortbow, the longbow, the mace, the focus, and the pistol all come to mind as being relatively meh.
The Dagger, Axe, Sword, Greatswords, Hammer, and Rifle however are quite awesome.
Yeah, as I said; like there were two (or a very divided single) teams behind designing them…

My little Pony bow, yeah that’s totally serious…The reason i never bothered with Legendaries are they are a joke on the owner and of course the pain to actually get them..
I even laugh and Dusk/Twilight users they are one ugly FF7 cloud sword..
The only one I really, really like is the Axe.
Everything from the general theme to how it actually looks/behaves in-game is beautifully designed.

That’s inspired in GW1’s disco ball.
You could see it when Dervishes used the collector edition dance, and when someone used a disco ball item to create a fireworks display.
Although it’s true that it’ll be better of there was fireworks when it dealt a killing blow or something like that, as it is it has its own merit with a ‘Nostalgia’ factor.

I don’t see the resemblance. There is a random GS that does look like that though, but its a generic trash drop. The legendary ones are also not as grossly overaized as that joke of a sword.
I agree though, most of the legendary items are bland and don’t look special. A few I saw (shortbow and longbow, even the hammer is boarderline) don’t even look like legendary items. The GS, staff, and one or two others are eye catching and obviously legendary items.

Probably the same developer who created 80% of the legendaries during a My little Pony conference or some kitten.

The Axe actually creates ice up your character’s arm, not unlike Icebrood.
Super awesome.

if you want good hammer try forging Mjolnir, its freaking awesome (elementalist summon hammer skin with lightning), not like legendary crap

Didn’t get a chance to see that one yet. Not in game anyways, and if I did it didn’t catch my eye like a legendary should.

I actually prefer the priory hammer to that one, if it looked like a 40k thunder hammer I would be more interested.

Hate to see it wasted on an Asura but…

Looks too close to the corrupted axe. Funny though, I also think “what a waste…” whenever I see a Azura with a legendary. They make it too small, can’t really get the full effect.
Did they say they will have new legendary variations with the next big patch in Jan or Feb ??
Also, Frostfang could use some shine to it, maybe blueish cloud like corrupted or ghastly. From a distance it looks like a malformed corrupted axe without the particle effect. And why are the ice footsteps so small compared to the huge blotches from Twilight?
I just have to say that I love the My Little Pony bow. I think it would be nice if everything had sweet particle effects, but I don’t want to look like a spiky kitten skull guy all the time either.

Thank goodness! There’s nothing worse than a norn or charr swinging around a Greatsword; the effects are so obtrusive and vulgar, and worse; negatively effect others gameplay as you can’t see a thing your enemy’s doing and hence can’t react to them in a battle.
Legendaries are a great idea, but their implementation so far has fallen a long way short of what they could be.
Let’s just hope Anet continues to improve them.
