"Looking Ahead:Guild Wars 2 in 2013" more DR?
I totally agree, daily rewards is the worst idea ever for a game of this type.
the bonus gold is referring to the new gold that youll get for completing a different path everyday.
has nothing to do with diminishing returns.
I like the new “looking ahead thing,” it fixed a lot of the problems this game needed fixing, champions will actually be worth killing now, and harder dungeons give more money, and it does make total sense nerfing the tokens you get, because 60 tokens= 2 rares, if the dungeon is ablove level 68, you have a chance at a glob of ectoplasm, if they didn’t nerf the tokens globs of ectoplasm would be around 4s each by now, people would only do the easiest dungeon path and leave out the kittenes, I can see many problems with this, you guys are just people who will never stop complaining…
Is currently emotionally unstable because Breaking Bad is over

So you think that making champions worth killing will help? In my opinion it will make it alot worse. Its pretty simple to kill a champ, theyre not very difficult. even with a group of 6 or 7 they can be taken down in a few minutes (and no not a group of 6 or 7 lvl 80s but of the same level as the champion). So if champs become actually worthwhile to kill there will be people camping out champs and killing them in two mins. Did you like when you were in queensdale and someone would link [Vale Waypoint] and say trolll and youd just click twice be transported there and get your goodies. Too bad, now you will try to travel there as quickly as possible but by the time you get there a hundred level 80s will have ripped that troll to shreds. There just going to give people who hop from world event to world event and even from server to server more options for them to get rares from.
Now to address your last point the reason people complain about dr is because the game gives us so many things we want like legendarys and exotic armor and then makes them so difficult or at least brain numbingly boring to get. Personally i never go into a dungeon in order to make money. Even cof which i run more than any other dungeon (duh), i know i will get money from it but i never take omnomnomnomnomberry bars with me and i dont care about the time because the main reason im running it is to get my mesmer some great armor. at the moment it takes way too long because after my first two runs i only have 80 tokens and after that i only get around 10 per run. (acutally add around 12 to that first number because you get those wonderfull little blue bags from the bosses). And i have 3 alts adn id like for them all to have cof armor so its going to take way too long to get it. honestly i like the idea of what the op said because that way i could run more than one dungeon and still get armor in a reasonable amount of time.
And about ectos. The salvaging rate isnt as good as you would think. Im pretty sure thats nerfed as well because i took some of my spare rares i had left over that i wasnt using (about 15) and i got maybe 12 ectos from them (i got one ecto from 10 of them and 2 ectos from one of them) and those rares were worth around 17s+ so i pretty much lost money on that and so to make a profit ectos couldnt go lower than 15s unless prices on rare items also fell.

Killing Queensdale champions will most likely reward a chest that drops loot for level 1-15. Thus, if you want good champion rewards, you’ll go to Southsun or Cursed Shore (both of those have a level of 83 as opposed to 75-80 like Frostgorge/Orr).
making dungeon tokens the same for all dungeon would create a desert in arah and a lot of pressure in the fstest dungeons…
it is just an example.
the only way to force people to not run cof1 30 times a day is to cap the reward system, and that is ok, according to me, since there are a lot of dungeon very intersting to do.
about champion worth killing, i agree, i mean there are not only the champions in queensdale right?
there are also lots of champion in orr and they specifically said they are doing this to make those champions worth killing.
the reward for the troll in queensdale will be scaled to the level of the champion i guess? and even if it isn’t it doesn’t matter, it’s just mats that you can craft once a day, so no real need to farm the troll. the game is full of champions enough for all of us!
about ecto, my salvaging rate is just fine, sometimes is kitten and sometimes is rich

Congratulations on killing that level 8 champion, have some t1 craft mats.

actually i guess u are right. although i do think there will be too many people at each champ like there are around the dragons so that the events will be really easy but at least there will be some people in the mid level areas and in orr.
however for the dungeons i still feel that nerfing tokens is a terrible idea. They wont do a across the board change where every dungeon gives the same token thats never going to happen. But i can still hope! However i still wish that they dont nerf cof in the sense that you dont get less tokens from each run because it takes way too long to get dungeon armor sets

a common currency would only further make people do a specific dungeon, it would be too esay to milk cof1 runs and get all the common currency you need, no, ill tell you what would make us attempt other dungeons more often – better weapons and armour that suit all races, thats the base motivation for attempting to do a dungeon.
I think people are overreacting a bit here about champs, hold off the criticism shall we till we actually know what drops in one of these chests. As for champions dropping these chests I think its a great idea, even if its level capped loot, its about encouraging players to work through events again because really to get to a champion event you have to finish the other events around it. I am hoping that these champ chests will be offered in dungeons too so we stimulate dungeon runs again. [BTW thankgod for the Path reward system changes, I am sick of seeing posts in lfg like “SC CoF lvl80’s Warr zerkers only, dont waste my time” rude and obnoxious speed clearers are the worst players in the game]
Universal tokens = bad idea ~ this thread has been around for awhile, and its just basically a lazy way for players to get rarer armor/weapon skins.
DR – Needs to be removed. Players shouldn’t be penalized for playing the way they want to play. If I want a legendary weapons and need 250 of every t6 material why should I be punished for farming those materials? “GW2 is designed for players to play the way they want to play” but why is it only what they deem is playing the game, they have taken the time factor out of the game by making it impossible for us to work hard for gear we want.

Given that I hardly have the time to run a dungeon once, let alone multiple times, makes me happy for the current daily implementation. Means low-lifers can’t run away from me nearly as fast. Sure they still run away from me, but at the very least it’s more controlled.
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
If the dungeon paths were long, people wouldn’t be able to speedrun it in the way they do. After that, we should get one of selected armor/weapon piece in each run, or collecting them (~10) for Elite versions.
So it needs a token reorder…
Anyway, these dungeons should give us very unique skins as possible loots, and there is a need for respecting people with these items, when we can’t just say “Well grinded mate…”
I’m more interested about bossfights tho>
The current combat system is 20th century.

Universal tokens = bad idea ~ this thread has been around for awhile, and its just basically a lazy way for players to get rarer armor/weapon skins.
So lazy = not wanting to run the same dungeon 26+ times in order to get all the armor I want for ONE character? That’s not being lazy. If making a universal currency results in some dungeons not being played at all and some being overplayed then you fix those particular dungeons to make them on-par with all the others, so there is no vast advantage to doing one over the other.
Bottom line is I’ve gotten totally burnt out on GW2 from doing TA till my head was ready to explode. And I still don’t have all the gear I want, and every time I log in I’m reminded of it, get annoyed, and log out.
I’m not lazy. I just don’t want to be bored to death and want to actually enjoy what I’m doing. If I wanted endless grind for mats and armor I’d go back and play WoW. GW2 is supposed to be better. It’s the game that’s supposed to give you flexibility and options so you don’t have to farm and grind the same content over and over again to get what you want. But apparently this does not apply to dungeons, because it’s same old tired reward system, now with even more restrictions and penalties.
Anyway, I said my 2 cents worth. If you disagree and think multiple currencies is peachy keen a-ok that’s fine. But to me it’s what broke the game for me, and I’m finding it really difficult to find a good reason to come back because the thought of doing another TA run makes my stomach churn, and being reminded I don’t have all the gear I want unless I do more TA makes me frustrated to all hell.
The idea of forcing champions to drop a specific type of loot is good, but in the long run I’m going to guess that it’s just PR for Anet. There will be some insanely small drop rate for items of value, and the rest will be trash that is dropped so often that it’s value will be about 5c on the TP.
Unique Boss Drops are basic element of any RPG game. It was in GW1, and we would like to have it in any MMO. As long as RNG don’t ruins it.
I prefer crafting btw. Unique upgrading!
