I suggest a middle ground for Ascended items by having the stats exactly the same as Exotic armor, but include an additional Magic Find stat.

Another option is to have them balanced with Exotics but more versatile by having four lower stats instead of the same three stats as Exotics or be more narrow than Exotics by having two higher stats instead of three.

This doesn’t fix the fact that they will be required to play in the new dungeon. Nobody cares about the +5 to a stat. It’s the gearscore and hard check.

Then what’s it for? The +5 to a stat? Really, because that’s absolutely nothing, and there is no balance issue there.
