Please consider changing the montly/daily reset timer to be based on local time. For many players it currently falls right in the middle of prime play time. Having it reset when you are almost finished is frustrating.
I realize that no matter what time is chose this will happen to some people but it would at least be an intuitive time for the reset to happen at midnight in your local time zone (you know…when the day/month changes…).
For the daily, it might be even better if you could complete it only once per day and your progress was saved until you fully completed it (ie. start it on monday and finish on tuesday and not be able to complete again until wednesday.).
Yes, I just made a post that at the very least we should have the option to have the GMT time displayed instead of local or server time.
If actual server time means nothing then screw that! We don’t need to see it.
We need the time frame displayed that the resets are tied to as a reference while in-game.
I don’t give a flying-fig what time frame ANet wants to use, but at least make it so your players can be track it at a glance. It’s common customer oriented thinking.

This is the post I most agree with. I do like that they base resets on GMT, but if I weren’t already used to using GMT as a reference (and knowing where I am in relation to it), the reset times would seem completely arbitrary and annoying.
Signing this as well. For that matter, why did the monthly reset in the middle of the last day of the month? I was one dungeon away from completion of the monthly, and now it has reset. This is really frustrating.

I’m assuming it reset about an hour and a half before your post. That would be 0000 GMT, 1 March. Assuming that’s right, that’s the time it should have reset.
I was also in a dungeon when it reset and it was the last one I needed too. Then I find out that I didn’t get, thinking that I miscounted to find that it had reset with me knowing really hurts.
I don’t understand why it reset at 6 in the day my time.

Great you have assumed the obvious. The issue is that there is nothing in the the game to let you track GMT time. The only options are local and server time, and for me both of those time zones are the same thing. My monthly got reset at 4 PM.

I already agreed with your earlier post that there should be an option to display GMT in-game, and that it should probably be made more clear that GMT is the time zone that resets are based off of. >_>

I was just getting the same reaction in-game chat:
I didn’t find it helpful because it completely missed the point of why they even have an in-game clock at all -one that doesn’t even allow you to display the real game time.
I’ve posted in another thread about this, but can’t agree enough. My reset is 7pm, East Coast USA. Even to reset with the West Coast at midnight would be preferable to the 7pm reset I’m having to deal with. Worked very hard on that monthly and lost it all. Thanks A-Net. Love you too.
It needs to be put in the game. If GMT for some unbeknown reason is so crucial to use instead of the established server time already present in the game, then GMT needs to become the “official server” time, so midnight in-game is reset time.

Lots of things need to be put in game- LFG, Last Log in, wiki, until then….
As continually suggested by the ‘support’ team that says post here because developers use this, not the tickets: reset time needs to be to the server midnight, not all servers reset as the first time zone in the world turns midnight. for east coast US players servers reset at 8pm, which is in the middle of most players online time. this is highly inconvenient, and has cost me achievements numerous times since it’s not like i can move across the US to get a better time zone to play the game i want to play. it’s also not like this would be something very difficult to do.

good and BAD ideas.
Ok Good:
Server reset based on local server time.
Bad:
Resets at midnight
-Reason: You are a way from the computer ALL DAY on monday. But you still want the laurel for Monday. You just missed Monday’s laurel, when you play on Tuesday.
– Same scenario but the way it currently is (Reset at 8 PM Eastern). You are away ALL day on Monday. You come home Tuesday at 4 PM Eastern time. You have FOUR, hours to get Monday’s Daily and then Tuesday’s daily resets.
The way it is set up now is so you can miss a day and not get punished.
Personal Experience: I can play on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, sat ,sun.
So I get sunday’s daily on sunday, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s daily on Wednesday, and Thurday’s and Friday’s daily on Friday, sat on sat. I miss one laurel a week with the current system. IF it were changed, i’d miss monday, tuesday and thursday.
24 HRS is 24 hrs. work tuesday’s daily a bit before you log off on monday night

Ahh man, last time I checked ( albiet it’s been a long time) but 24 hours is 24 hours.
It resets at 8 PM Eastern, you’re mad cuz you missed it. Boom happens again and again because you fail to adapt. Well here it is for you then. WORK YOUR DAILY BEFORE YOU LOG It’s 8 pm and it just reset, so you can A. do what you have been doing and not do your daily or B. do half your daily before you log ( takes about ten minutes) and finish it before the reset the next day or C. start and finish it at reset time.
I’ll tell you what your parents/ teachers should have told you DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE do things ahead of time. See my post up above as to WHY the current system is so good.
Well apparently you didn’t work hard at all. You had 31 days, thats 744 hours , why would you wait til the last possible hours to get it done? My last 2 monthlies were done by the 4th day of the month, and I put no effort into any of it.
Stop trying to beat the buzzer by waiting til the time is almost up, if you do at the very least educate yourself as to when the period ends. It really is not that hard.
