The game is indeed fine without them, we do not need them for sure, yes I can agree with this statement. Doesn’t stop people from wanting to have them. And it will not make me change my mind.

“MOST” don’t want them. Well now I can not agree here, the people who post in the forums is a small demographic of the total population of the dedicated gamers who play the game. As I said before what do you gain, by trying to block other people from having them. If you do not want them, don’t get one if they come out.

Clone! No certainly not, if they introduced mounts like the other game you speak of, I might be insulted. The dev’s at Anet are very creative and could come up with a totally new mount system that is in no way a clone of any other game. But since you insist on making that bland statement as a defensive objective. Let me remind you that the so called other game you do not want GW2 to become a clone of. In fact GW has many elements adopted from the genre. Which they did not create first but took it and made it something that was unique to GW and a first for the genre, to many to list.

Mounts are a terrible idea, please refrain from ever adding them to this game.

I actually feel like there should be a mounts system, but make it so that using mounts is a trade-off.

Reasons to use a mount:
Move faster (OK, we don’t really need to move faster, but for places like WvW, might not be a bad idea)
Stronger “charging” attacks
Potential for aerial combat (hoping)
Mounts can be raised like pets

Tradeoffs:
If you are knocked down, you spend 2 seconds stunned
Your weapon choices are limited (similar to while swimming)
Your mount could die, which costs extra to revive
Your mount follows you around when you’re not riding it, exposed to the dangers of the world.

Thunderscape and Gummy. Finally some reason in this thread lol. I’m still not getting a good argument in the opposition. So far I’ve read No No No, and because they don’t want it to be like WoW. Come on people I don’t care which side you pick., just come up with an actual good point/argument on your view.

We got a cosmetic mount already, which i have, the broomstick.
So for all the ones who said Anet would never put mounts in the game “/raspberry”.

But still however nice that is, it’s still not a mount that I have outlined in previous statements. I hope that the broomstick is a sort of testing ground to see the validity of its popularity before they release of a more formal mount system.

But in the last patch, they did kinda fix a big problem I was having, that a mount could have been used to rectify. They added un-contestable waypoints to some of the areas. Even though they did this, this still does not shake my resolve, to have a mount system that would make anyone happy to have one.(even the Neigh-Sayers((which is kinda like a pun don’t you think)))

Edit: scratch that part those two waypoints fixed nothing.

Aye It’s probably testing ground for maybe implementing mounts(cosmetic) or not in the future. huehue Now they need to fix dungeons, on to the next rant lol!
