So, hi! (I didn’t know how to name this thready fully…)

Here I come with a, mostly useless, suggestion.
Although it’s useless in the gameplay side, on the other hand, the esthetic one, it’d be a pleasure to have this feature on the game.
Since GW1, we are used to be able to show our Head item or not, as long as the cloak. Now it’s the shoulders & head.
I think you should add a box, to tick or not, like the ones in Head & Shoulders items, to choose whether to show the armor, or not, like one box per item.
I think this could be done fairly for the love of all players!

I am unsure of what you’re suggesting here. You want to be able to appear naked…but still receive the benefit of armor?

Well, yes…usually. However, in this case, I was attempting to clarify the original suggestion, as it sounded to me like “I want to be able to hide my armor.”

That’s what it is supposed to mean!
I just got that idea when my top piece broke, it looked like a W armor from GW1, where you had only one arm + the bra as the armor.

While I understand where you’re coming from, I am almost certain that most people would just hide everything and run around the world naked… We are, after all, human.

That’s not the point I wanted it to be.
More like… Looking kitten. Getting in a fight with your top piece not showed looks fun to me. I don’t know if it does for you.

If that’s the reason for the suggestion, why not find a meager chestpiece that shows off the chest? For heavy armour, at least, there are a couple options for both male and female.

Not only for the chest. Just imagine you don’t like your gloves but they have awesome stats and don’t want to waste a level 80 stone for a barely better skin. Then, you can hide them.
