PLEASE fix dual wielding animations.
If one weapon is a melee weapon and the other is ranged (and vice-versa) or ‘special’ like a torch or a focus, that’s fine.
But when both weapons have the same range, the first skill should be either changed into one that uses both weapons, much like the thief 3rd skill changes depending on what weapon you have in the other hand.
Or at least its animation should be changed, to look as if it used both weapons.
No matter what, wielding two of the same weapon and not using both for the first skill looks awkward.
It only “looks awkward” if your only familiarity with weapons and fighting styles is from exposure to video games. IRL, dual wielding is an extremely awkward and almost never used fighting style. And when it is used, the offhand weapon is almost always held in reserve for defense, and/or to take your opponent by surprise when they lower their guard.
Which fits perfectly with the current animation style.
Greyfeld is right.
Current animations are far more realistic than you might think. Its just prior video games have gotten us used to dual wielding is actually constantly using both weapons.
Animations are correct. When you use an offhand ability it uses both weapons, if you use an ability that says it strikes with both, it strikes with both.

Doesn’t matter, it still looks and feels like crap, making these weapons and styles feel less viable/desirable in a game where we’re already coming up short on combat diversity.
That’s your opinion. My opinion is that it’s fine.
It doesn’t look like they use only one.

when did he say you couldn’t he said it’s very awkward, which in fact it is, even those good at it will admit it’s very awkward, also notice how his right hand is a smaller blade, meaning it’s more used for defense and surprise attacks

Actually sorry to tell you this but as a practicing swordsman I happen to know. the proper way to fight with two weapons at once is by striking with both at the same time. People who hold their off-hand weapon “In reserve” are fools who don’t know what a shield is.

Have fun slicing your hand off.
