With the new ascended gear coming out, please remove the requirements on crafting. It is stupid that one set requires a /gating/ while every other crafting material/items in the game do not.

Make:
Charged Quartz Crystals non-account bound (Tradable.)
All Celestial Armor/Trinkets/Jewelry (Tradable.)
Remove the level 80 requirements on learning the recipes.

Crafting Professions are meant to craft and to sell there goods to make money, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to sell gear you make. Period.

crafting isn’t to make profit, and having some crafting components locked to account/soul-bound is one of the few things that would actually make crafting worth doing.

It gives them time between updates and is a way to get you to keep logging in.

I don’t agree with it either but; lucky for Arenanet to not have good competition right now.

I’m agreeing with Daecollo… I’m expecting a rain of blood and talking horses any minute now.

On a serious note, sadly I don’t think we’ll get rid of the asinine time gating ANet seems insistent in shoving down our throats… Sadly it’s such a cheap and efficient way to virtually inflate content. How to make a 5 step process that would normally take 5 minutes last about a week? Why, just make sure someone can only do one step every day!

It seems like it’s going to be present in the latest addition of vertical progression treadmill crap that is ascended gear.

Its stupid that this is the only gated gear, and all the other ones are fine..

and they even stated the new ascended gear will have to use the crystals..

So WHY even get the gear?

I don’t mind the time gating, but I hope they do NOT require you to track down a recipe for each and every item you can make, like they did with the stuff introduced with Zephyr Sanctum. If I can make the insignia, I should be able to figure out the stuff it’s used on, the same as I do with any other insignia.

Nor should they require you to be level 80 to craft them. That’s just pointless.

Then you’re that much further behind on the Celestial gear acquirement. Tell me, though, do you really even have a Celestial build theorycrafted or do you just think that you need it?

So because it takes 45 days to get a full exotic/ascended combination set of Celestial (not including backpiece which doesn’t exist), it’ll take a year to get a full ascended armorset. Seems legit.
