The title is pretty self explanitory. I’ve been on one other forum before where this was allowed. Basically the players were allowed to lock the threads themselves once they got an answer to their questions or the thread was done with. This would save some of the forum moderators the trouble of having to lock threads. Of course only the maker of the thread and a moderator could lock a specific thread.

Or someone could get all kitteny and lock a thread when they didn’t like a response. Not a good idea, IMO.

Wouldn’t that be better than actually going on a rampage in one’s own thread? Besides, only the authors or mods of the thread can lock it. Not everyone can lock a thread.

So the OP gets mad, locks a thread and forces anyone who want to contribute to the thread to create a new one. How does that help?

Maybe not lock it, but give the OP the ability to tag the post as “Answered”

That sounds like a good compromise! Then people can still choose to post and others can choose to read past the answer the OP felt was the correct one.
