Slayer Class
I’d imagine that if they are going to add another profession, it will be one of the ones from the original Guild Wars that did not make it into this game.
^Jazneo, what profile would such a class have?
→ Warrior: plain soldier class
→ Guardian: protector class
→ Elementalist: stereotype elemental/natural mage class
→ Ranger: hunter/archer class
→ Thief: Assassin/sneaky kitten class
→ Mesmer: illusionary class
→ Necromancer: death magic class
→ Engineer: inventor/turret/gun class
→ Slayer? Mix between ranger(2h) and thief (dual pistol)…
It sounds cool alright, but what is so specific, so special about this class?
What about:
- Profession Mechanic?
- Archetype?
- Lore?
- Playstyle?

Indeed. Some more input about this class please. Why would it be an advantage to make it available? Also I think about this: we already have 3 medium armour classes, isn’t it better to get another heavy armour one?
i was thinking like mixure of ranger 2handsword animation and with theif dual pistol
and have more charge up 2handed sword attack when you hold the button it charge sword to do uppercut and the reason for leather it look way cooler and make the character more lightweight and faster to move around the enemy
slayer be like mixture of theif, ranger
i name it slayer because a character with 2 dual pistol and a 2 handsword. mostly they call them vimpire slayers or demon slayer

Mixing professions together isn’t going to satisfy anyone at this point. You need a very in depth explination of this profession of yours including what TheDaiBish said before people can even understand what it is you want.
break. I feel like they should be back by now..”

i was saying make a class like devil may cry dante
I’ll help you out
Name: Slayer
Profession Type: Adventurer (Medium Armour)
Background: The Slayer is the hunter of all things unholy. Unlike the Guardian, who gains their power from their virtues, the Slayer focuses on purely physical methods and intense training and building up momentum to cut a path through the abominations.
Profession Mechanic: Momentum
As the Slayer deals damage, they build up Momentum. Momentum shortens the cooldowns on their weapon skills, allowing then to chain together powerful combo’s. However, missing attacks causes the Slayer to lose Momentum. Losing too much Momentum will throw the Slayer off balance, causing them to need to regain their posture, sending all weapon skills into a 1 sec cooldown.
Their F1 skill also allows them to charge up an attack that uses Momentum. If all Momentum is lost in this way, they don’t incur the cooldown penalty. Momentum attacks can be charged while using other attacks, but are interrupted when under the effects of CC.
Weapons:
Greatsword:
Momentum ability: Rising Tide – Charge up an uppercut attack to blow your opponent away. The longer you charge, the further you blow your target away.
Slot 1:
Slash – Slash foes once
Double Slash – Spin, slashing all foes around twice
Wading Slash – Dive forward, slashing foes on the way.
Slot 2:
Helmbreaker – Bring down your sword in a powerful slash. Deals more damage the more Momentum you have.
Slot 3:
Driving Force – Leap forward, driving into the enemy. The more momentum you have, the further you leap. If you have full momentum, you knock the foe down.
Heal:
Recuperate – Channel a heal that heals for x every second. For every tick you lose momentum.
Utilty: Relaxed Stance – gain more momentum for the next 5 attacks, and you don’t lose momentum for missed attacks.
Hardly well thought out, but yeah.

I like that Dai, but I think it should be in the direction of a heavy armour class. If we can combine your idea with some other stuff it might work out. At the moment it looks a bit like a mix of a warrior (adrenaline > momentum) and a thief.
Try to make something more creative. I’ve seen following new post that has some things worth considering: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/New-heavy-class/first#post1271956

Not so much a proper idea as helping OP out with how to approach and convey his in a bit more depth

I could get behind this class… but only if their elite ability was “Dragon Slave”.
Ballancing existing classes first. It sounds like a mix of rouge and warrior tbh.
I dont think a new profession is needed to introduce what your looking for…
it would be nice to see all classes be able to use all weapons tho, as someone surgested in the other post.
and as i said, have another set of skills depending on what armor your using.
Leave it to A-net to decide whether the suggestion is possible or not.
