Guild Wars 2

For those of us casual gamers that can’t log on every day to complete dailies or have enough playing time to complete monthlies…would be nice to be able to pay a fee and get them back in bundles so when we have time to play we can complete them and receive our rewards.

Before you kids start complaining and argue that they take very little time to complete; some of us live very busy lives but have the pockets deep enough to afford this and not fall behind too much in order to remain competitive on the high end side of things ;-)

We could therefore move from a scenario where we “have to log on everyday” to one where “we can log on and get this done when we have time”.

An besides, ANET needs to keep making money so they can maintain you hardcore gamers happy with new content…I’d be happy to contribute by helping finance your updates this way!

I didn’t know having a busy life was against the terms and conditions of GW2…thanks for pointing it out though!

You could pay a certain amount each month to have only the dailies you missed during the month come up for you to be able to complete them. This would allow a person to have the same amount or laruals as everyone else and no one could Pay to win.

The reason why I don’t like this is the fact I found the time to play and used it to complete a daily. Also this would make the population go down. Some people would decide, hey I can just buy to get these later and just decide not to play. Not saying this is you but there are people out there like that.

But the idea itself isn’t bad, I just think it wouldn’t be good for the game as a whole.

I agree with what you say…it could lead people to play less hence affect population…but IMO a game that “forces” players to logon every day is not going to make it long term with the casual gamer I’m speaking of…

Your argument becomes null and void for me there. You are not forced to get laurels.

As is always mentioned in every one of these thread about this same topic. You don’t need to do them. You get a benefit if you do, but the benefit is only benefitial for those that play significantly.

The only thing you NEED Laurels for, and you don’t necessarily actually “need” them even for this, is some Ascended items. The only thing you need Ascended items for is very high level fractals. There isn’t a single other aspect of this game where Ascended items are in any way required for play.

More so, if you’re doing those fractals already you don’t actually need Laurels because you can get the items you need by doing the Fractals.

Therefore there is absolutely nothing you actually need Laurels for and therefore no reason to feel you are required to do Dailies. Dailies are only there for those of us with the time to play to maybe do in that time if we don’t have anything else we want to do.

For a while now Dailies has actually been the only thing I’ve been doing at all. I get on, bust them out, then log and do other stuff. I’m trying to grind Vicious Fangs for the Quiver and Laurels are the easiest way to do that.

Not really. Gem store items are aesthetic only (and of course some utilitarian like bank slots, bag slots, character slots etc.). Laurels are for ascended gear, which is a boost over Exotic (therefore not aesthetic) but really only needed for higher level fractals. If you are not logging in and playing a lot, you are probably not doing higher end fractals, thus you do not need that gear.

The argument as stated is that the game was forcing people to log in to get laurels. Well, that is just not true. Also, the game does not force you to buy things from the gem store either. If you want them, do the work (for laurels…really it takes what? 1/2 hour to complete the daily) or spend the money (if you want something in the gem store). Neither is forced.

However, I also do the dailies for the jugs of Karma. They give a NICE boost when buying that exotic karma gear. Coupled with the Karma you can make in WvW, you can get Exotics pretty quickly even as a casual player.

As far as laurels go, our small guild is far more interested in using them for guild influence then armor. Others might prefer to play the gear/crafting bag lottery.

That is not what this thread is about. The OP wants to pay a fee for them to stack, letting him skip a week of playing, but still be able to complete the dailys for those seven days on the day that he plays.

Not kittening on you for wanting to play a mmo while maintaining the busy life (other things are in fact more important) but dailies arn’t that time consuming. In fact, sometimes depending on what categories you get, they go quicker than the old dailies.

They really don’t ask much from you, and you get a lot of exp, mats (amount varies between dailies) and a laurel + chance at some gem items. I think dailies are reasonable as is, and you don’t have to pay anything to do them but 20-30 minutes.
