Tarnished Coast events are un-playable.
now we are being kicked to over flows on our own servers because of all of the guest in a full Tarnished Coast.
+1 this post. It is a bit lame at the moment. :-/
At least make it so the people who are native to the server get priority over guest
I don’t think this has anything to do with guesting. Simply more people show up for dragon events because rewards are now better.

No it’s guesting. There is the thread on Reddit about how we are the guesting server.
The experience is really bad, lag is huge, dragons barely function, skills barely function if at all, it’s a ridiculous and meaningless encounter. Not being angry man, just want anet to know it’s not just laggy.
Just did Jormag… as soon at he landed and everyone starts thier battle my client freezes. The only way to get out of it is to restart my computer.
Restarted… phase 2 Jormag… fired for ~2 mins with the Charzooka… no loot chest.
Checked combat log… never hit him. 2 mins of shooting and I never hit him!
I dont care about guesting, but if the events cant handle the people, something needs to be done.
I only have time to hit his event once due to work, so this lag and crashing crap kills the entire event. You never see him do anything but ‘moving’ and some of the ice spikes which makes fighting these bosses a joke.
Same goes for all other world bosses on Tarnished Coast (lag and animation during fight)
Well its been happening on Sea of Sorrows too. I don’t think this is something specific to your server. I don’t know if guesting has anything to do with it or if its just the events are more popular due to increased loot.
This would probably be happening with or without guesting. Before the better loot on chests from world events, LA was normally full during peak periods: 1-2 overflows or more. Now, I am more likely to end up in LA without overflow — all of those people went somewhere and I speculate that they are chasing events and some are guesting to other servers.
In other words, the symptom is that some people are having trouble participating in world-events that have the improved chest loot. We don’t know the cause.

The TC has been getting worse and it seems to stem the Reddit post about how we were the “Offical” guesting server. On top of the events now being laggy and natives being kicked to over flow, because TC keeps it’s timers pretty accurate, the guest are trashing the harassing the native RP community.

It may be guesting, and it may just be that everyone wants the better rewards. I was doing Shatterer the other day with in intension of completing the Boss Acheivement, but there was no way to even try to do that with all the lag. I was able to autoattack and that was about it.
Changing rules for guesting will not work. Making guesting invite only will just cause people to set up invite hubs for events. The only way to stop guesting from interfering with events is to make it so that guesting doesn’t get you around one prize limit on events.
They need to make it so that, either, the limit is attached to your character somehow so when you guest, if you already got the chest, you can’t get it a second time, or make it so that guests just can’t get chests. Personally I think this is the better solution. You can get the event reward and any drops that you get, but chests are not for guests. Then guesting would stop entirely for events and we can move on to worrying about how to relieve the lag from just native population.

Just give a normal chest to the guest not the guaranteed chest.

Which is why guest restrictions wouldn’t work, because any restrictions on guest-ability would quickly be circumvented by natives.
