I agree, adding more easily accessible town clothing seems like a harmless idea. However, maybe just add the crafting part to tailor? Or is that too imbalanced? Then we could have an NPC ‘seemstress/seemster’ to sell some town clothes for coin/karma/maybe dungeon tokens?
moar town clothes please.
and an option to have them automatically toggle when you’re inside a city (and not have them turn off just because you’re taking a dive or fell an inch too much and took 3 damage)
A check box for cloths “Always show in towns” option like in GW1 would be appreciated. or a check box for armor “Always hide in towns” option.
My guess is they want to keep town clothing a feature of the cash shop (since it’s not “essential” to the gameplay). But I hope I’m wrong.
Why not just make it a subsection of Tailoring?
Even if they make it cash shop only, right now you can have your cultural town clothes, or look like a pirate or a kitten cook. Hardly variety.
And I’d generally be in favour of adding craftable items that are just for flair and don’t have a combat use. Be it in the form of Bundles or other items. Tailors and Leatherworkers being able to create town clothes would be a definite start.
So I bought the Pirate’s Outfit a ways back, thought it was neat. But I honestly never use it and that kind of bums me out. I forget I even have it. Would be nice if there was a setting in the options to be able to automatically switch to town clothes when inside towns and lion’s arch. I would honestly be more inclined to buy more town outfits if that were the case.
Good idea.
(12 blah blah)
Feature: Auto adorn town clothes when in a city. Option can be toggled.
This would be a great feature! I recall I dyed my town stuff all spiffy my first time in a city but don’t think I’ve used it since.
EDIT Clarification after a thread merge.
Feed them and they multiply.
Please do not feed them.

i mentioned this in a couple other topics, but i guess it’s easier if we have a topic specifically for that suggestion.
+1, do want.

i’d have no problem with that, as long as we had more options, and that “auto use in town” option i mentioned. hell, even a bindable key to put town clothes on would be great.
It’s a good idea to have Armorers, Leatherworkers and Tailors to craft Towns Clothes. The towns clothes should be crafted using a mix of low-tier and high-tier mats, just to consume the surplus/abundance of low-tier mats.
Or if ANet wants to control the towns clothes market so they can have income, they could sell a component mat for it in the gem shop.
I’m liking this idea. I would like to have a Tuxedo. A real Tuxedo with a toy pistol. Shaken. Not stirred. /queueAdele LET THE SKY FALL!!!
But before that, I wish they would let us sit on seats so I can do some RP.
Id liek the auto town clothes to please, id really like to care about town clothing but as of now I forget about it. More options for clothing as well
you can key bind town clothes, please check you key binding options, i found just a button there the other day, i bound it to mi right alt and now i am an happy tyrian

I’d like to see it so that when you enter town it automatically switches you to town clothes. If you want an option to turn it off then there can one of those too, but it seems pointless at this point to even buy town clothes when you have to remember to switch to them every time you go into town. I’d be willing to spend more money on them if I spent more time looking at them. I can’t remember to switch to it all the time. The costume idea is ever better, but auto town clothes would work. I’d love to have glasses I could wear all the time. That was favorite part of the asura armor in Guild Wars and I worked very hard to get that armor just for the glasses. As a person I’m forced to wear glasses and might as well force my characters as well for some fun.
