Wallet MAJOR FLOW - NEEDS TO CHANGE NOW
The “Back To Search” link is at the bottom of the interface well below the buy button. At least on my interface, so it would be pretty tricky (read careless) to accidentally buy something. Can’t you sell the hammer back for a small loss?
Yes but what about people making a mistake and buying a precursor for example?
believe me if it happened to me then it will happen to people as well.
I’m sure it happened to others already.

It’s called caution and attention to detail especially when you are fiddling with transactions of the magnitude. I’m a believer that a game should only do so much hand holding. Think before you click, pretty simple.
I agree we should still be able to store gold in our personal banks…
But that being said you can’t blame Anet for your misclick. Also, assuming the hammer you just bought was one of the new champion skins (Entropy/Genesis), I bet you’ll actually end up making gold from buying it for 175g.

What a crappy attitude to take.
Since it hasn’t happened to me yet, its no problem.
I agree with OP.
Add the system to the TP that is currently in place for the gem store. It always asks you for confirmation.
This doesn’t give players more work. Its just one extra click…..and if you are complaining about clicking in an mmo……

Why is it a crappy attitude? I was simply being frank. If a player doesn’t pay attention and clicks the wrong button then it isn’t the games fault it is the players. The “back to search” link is well below the buy button. I won’t lie I have purchased the wrong thing a few times because I wasn’t paying attention. I chalked it up to a lesson learned and to be more careful with my purchases. They could make it a two click process to buy and I am certain someone would still mess it up by not paying attention and then want even more measures in place.

I think having to confirm every item purchase might get very tedious. If they only added the confirm feature for say, items over 100g, then it might be acceptable.
As I stated above, a simpler solution would just be to re-enable personal gold bank storage.

If they make it a two click process and the player still messes it up, then he has no one else but himself to blame. Any complaints will fall in deaf ears and the community will laugh at him for even complaining about it.
What happened to OP has not happened to me, but I can certainly see that it could happen. Usually I play long hour sessions. That means you are also tired. A lot of things can happen when you are tired.

I really don’t think it would be that tedious. I think the 100g is too high a ceiling. Maybe 5-10g is good.

As I said, the “buy” button is pretty big, understandable, and is very far away from the “return to search” button. It would take a pretty sloppy mistake to click buy when you meant to go back to search. The OP is using this for an argument for personal bank to be back but the fact is the potential for mistakes at the TP were there before the wallet. If you are playing to the point you are fatigued then I might suggest taking a rest before conducting large gold transactions.
I think it is great that they have such “lessons” in a game. It might help someone learn to practice some attention to detail which is a very good life skill.

JustTrogdor please leave the thread as you are just trying to take the attention away from that this could happen to anyone.
Believe me if this happened to you then you won’t be having this attitude and will actually be sympathetic.
Let Anet see this so they can do something about it.
They added a confirmation box to buying a piece of armor for 180 tokens so there is no reason for them not to have the feature implemented in all aspects of the game.
I say have this confirmation added to items 1 or 10 golds and more.
I agree that we should have the option of storing coin in our bank.

I have bought the wrong items from the TP on several occasions as I stated in an earlier post. Having done so, I have learned to be more cautious when I am making transactions. I’m sorry but I want less “confirmation” buttons. They annoy me. I still stand by my opinion that players should simply be more cautious. The buy button is fairly large and no where close to the back to search button. Clicking away without being careful often does not end well. So having been in that situation, frustrating yes, sympathetic no.
100% disagree. Please do not add yet another confirmation box!
I have no problem with a confirmation for anything over 1g, or possibly 5g. What’s the harm? How often are you placing 5g+ orders that a confirmation would be a great nuisance to you?
Why not just have 2 pools of gold in the wallet.
Accessible Gold.
Inaccessible Gold.
Inaccessible Gold is gold you “store” inside your wallet, but cannot spend and doesn’t appear in your inventory (unless you mouse over the wallet).
Accessible Gold is gold that’s available to all characters instantly.
You can move gold from one pool to the other with a few clicks.

So players with more gold should be protected from their own carelessness but players with less shouldn’t? What about the player with only 1 gold who falls victim to the all so deceptive TP interface and buys something for 70 silver? 70% of their coin is now gone. My point is it would seem in order to protect players from themselves it would have to be global. My feelings toward the suggestion is that I don’t like confirmation buttons so I would rather not have them. So I hope this OPs suggestion is never implemented.
You have to learn self restraint at some point kids.
I just click on the item again and it takes me back. Never had an issue accidentally buying things on the tp, not sure how you would do that.

Why not just add an option to turn on/off confirmation buttons and add them to all currency purchases…that way those that want it can have it and those that don’t want it are also happy.
Honestly, I have to agree a confirmation button would be nice, because I would much rather be required to make one more simple click than lose a bunch of money because of an accidental misclick. Although, more than one confirmation button is just too much, so don’t add more than one…that’s just excessive. However, apparently there are also people who don’t want confirmation buttons. I don’t see why Anet can’t just please everyone and add a simple toggle in the Options menu.

People who spend a lot of their time flipping items on the TP for profit would be very very much bothered by this. I often make orders worth 10g+ and any added confirmation box would be a huge frustration and very bothersome.
Think about another confirmation box being added to what you spend most of your time doing in the game. You would be very much against it.
Nadeen should just learn her lesson, and not be so careless while looking at expensive items in the TP. I’m sure she can sell it back for minimal loss.
If people don’t want a confirmation message on the TP when buying items then they should bring back the option to store gold in the bank.
I don’t want to run around with all the gold that I have.
I usually reach a goal for example 200g and then say that I won’t spend anything to bring it down to 200g. Anything above 200g then I spend it. Then few months later when getting to 300g, that will be my new limit to keep and not spend anything to bring it under 300g.
So to make a long story short, please bring back the option to store gold in the bank and not carry it all on us.
Personally, I think it’s pretty convenient not having to go to the bank everytime I need some money. In otherwords, please don’t put things back to the way they were where every character had it’s own pool of money. That being said, I think there’s another solution that would make everyone happy, both people like me and people like Nadeen. Esplen said earlier:

I think Esplen has the right idea . . . this would make people like Nadeen happy, without forcing us back into the inconvenient situation of each character having it’s own money.
That being said, I still think a confirmation button in the Trading Post would be nice, with an option to toggle it on/off. For those of us that don’t make large purchases everyday it would be a nice safeguard against accidentally buying something. However, because of the toggle option, it would not hinder those who do make large purchases on a regular basis, because they could just turn it off.

I like the idea of accessible and an inaccessible “bank” for money. But to be consistent, they should do that for tokens and karma.
I disapprove of the caps locks used in this thread title.
If you accidentally buy something on the trading post, intentionally sell it to get most of your money back.
Accidentlly buying things on the TP rarely happens and no one was really storing a ton of gold in there bank just to avoid accidental TP clicks. If anything, it was used to transfer money between characters or to create a psychological effect of “i only should spend this much money.”
The largest problem with wallet? Players who share an account now share a wallet. I’d hate to have to trust my sibling/friend/child not to spend money they didn’t earn, but, maybe anet has some grounds to insist they get their own accounts.
