Any info regarding the new wintersday skins? Seriously I really want to know if there will be a hammer skin ….. I think hammer along with pistol are the only 2 weapons in game that doens’t have a holiday/event version :/….

I really want to use a good looking hammer on my war and guardian QQ

that being said, i certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a new hammer skin for the holidays! make that all weapons matter of fact.

yeah, well.. with someone buying up all silver doubloons on the TP and ultimately raising their price by over 1000% it’s extremely discouraging for anyone who still wants to go for the juggernaut.
mjolnir and foefire’s power are pretty expensive as well, with 350 and 100 charged lodestones, respectively.

fair enough.. crafted exotics / legendaries aside though.. i’m using the corrupted sledgehammer right now, which took some time / resources as well but i’m quite a fan of it. the lionguard is not bad. the anchor if you enjoy some humor (or pirates in general). the magamaton (though also getting pricier). the glyphic ones i’ve always enjoyed. then we have the dungeon skins, such as the kodan hammer, AC hammer, and the Orrian hammer are all quite nifty too i feel.

but still, i will always welcome new hammer skins. : ))

I don’t recall them making a mace skin either. But I wouldn’t be surprised that if they did make a hammer (or mace) it would probably be a giant candy cane. I could definitely see them making a shiv out of a candy cane for a knife.

Blunt weapons always get the short end of the stick when it comes to skins in games (or when it comes to not being included at all). Swords always get the most attention because everyone is apparently in love with swords.

That said, there are quite a few weapons without event skins in GW2. There have only been 2 events so far after all, and only a handful of skins per event. Off the top of my head, there are no event skins for Scepter, Mace, Hammer, Shortbow, Warhorn, Torch, or Pistol.

Though there are 3 shield skins, 2 sword skins, and 2 staff skins. So here’s hoping there will be more skins from the list above included (I’d be particularly interested in a Torch with a blue / ice flame effect) and less of the weapons which already have multiple skins.

yeah, i’ve been using the charr cultural t3 hammer (or rather, another karma weapon that shares a skin with, but only costs around 500 karma) on my norn warrior for a while, it was a pretty good fit for the dredge dungeon armor set i was running around in.
more recently, i switched to the ebon vanguard hammer (those weapons sadly don’t have visually identical, but cheaper alternatives). it’s pretty cool.. but i’d really like a lightning hammer :/

if i remember correctly, there is a halloween short bow.

I think Arachnophobia is a longbow, but if I’m mistaken then it means there’s no longbow.

sure is a lack of good looking hammers, I went from lion guard, to magmaton, now I have my corrupted hammer while I work on juggernaut.

mjolnir is over 1250 gold just for the lodestones

special mention to the hammer that requires gw1 and the priory hammer

I suspect some candy cane weapons, because Guild Wars 1 had some. If the gingerbread shield doesn’t make a return, then they messed up big time. ; )

Great Sword done as a giant Christmas Tree
Long Bow made out of Rudolph’s Antlers (arrows glow red to lead the way)
Candy Cane Staff/Scepter
Hammer that has 2 present boxes on the end and a candy cane shaft
Mace done as a snowglobe on a stick type of thing o.O not much you can really do with a mace look wise o.O
Shield that would look like a peppermint

We already have icicle daggers in game… so I’d want a candycane that someone fashioned into a sharp point.

I would love the rudolph’s antlers for my longbow, or maybe christmas tree branches

The new hammer skin is an Asura. There is rumor of a fiery version.

For some reason, likely an oversight, apparently they can’t be made like the other dubloons and drop very rarely. Also, a bunch of kittenes apparently cornered the market.

There are anchor skins for hammers. Why would you even think about using anything else? You can hit things in the face with kitten anchors!

I have two anchor skins for my hammers already and I want more.

No clue on a special Wintersday mace skin, but I found a mace that looks like a bottle of whiskey and immediately bought it.

Was it called Moonshine? My new norn guardian is specifically a guardian so I can dual wield Moonshine with Courage and/or Ambrosia.

To answer the original poster on holiday themed skins … they have some in the shop for 500gems each. I saw skins for all weapons except the underwater ones, mace, scepter, focus, and rifle. They look like either gingerbread or some kind of wooden toy theme to me, but my eyes aren’t what they used to be so I could be wrong.

I wish they had added a trumpet skin for the horn. I don’t know how they could possible miss that idea. It would have been pretty nice and would have went really well with the whole toys and rats Nutcracker-Christmas scenario.

If they would have added said trumped skin plus a proper animation and sound (read: Tchaikovskys Nutcracker main sequence), then it would have been extremely nice.

Maybe next year.
